The Value Of A Headstrong, Stubborn Opinionated President

Headstrong, stubborn, opinionated.

Are those the qualities you would want in your president? Are there benefits in having such a man sitting in State house or is it a recipe for disaster and the possible shut down of a nation? Well, think about it as you read on.

Former United States ambassador to Kenya Smith Hempstone (now deceased) worked tirelessly to help Kenyans get rid of the dictatorial Moi regime in the 1980s. It is no secret that the lovable “nyama choma ambassadeur” overstepped his mark as a diplomat in this country many times. I mean how does a peaceful protest march in the city against the Moi regime end up at the US embassy, with wananchi demanding that the ambassador address them?

Still in my book extreme times call for extreme measures and may history never forget to record the contributions of this white bearded burly man in the long road Kenyans have walked towards freedom and justice.

My apologies for getting emotionally carried away with Hempstone, but what I wanted to say was that one of Hempstone’s noble initiatives was to unite the then opposition to field a single candidate against President Moi in the initial multi-party elections of the 1990s. His efforts were always frustrated by headstrong politicians who believed that they would go it alone and beat Moi and his well oiled machinery single-handedly. One name in particular kept on popping up in Hempstone’s lips as a major stumbling block to any semblance of opposition unity. That name was Mwai Kibaki.

Fast forward to 2005 and the historic referendum. After years in the dark, many Kenyans were beginning to get a glimpse into the character of this Emilio Stanley Mwai Kibaki. Numerous people advised him to save the country from chaos and call off the referendum. He stubbornly refused insisting that he was winning and the Yes, banana vote would carry the day.

Fast forward to 2008 and somebody suggested that Barack Obama may have an outside chance of winning the US presidency. Insiders say that the president almost had a fit. He who had started going to the United States in the 1950s surely knew that country very well and there was no chance, even if every American fell dead of a black man being elected president. Of course the careful damage control that has been played out recently including those silly stories of how Kibaki gave Obama’s dad a job may fool some Kenyans as it is designed to do.

By the way one of the favourite means by which the president dismisses views and opinions that do not go down well with him is by calling people “young man.” You will remember in the run up to the 2007 elections Lucy Kibaki talked about a young man causing the president sleepless nights. She was simply echoing what was being discussed in private. In my view both Kalonzo Musyoka and Raila Odinga are NOT young men. If they are then Jimmy Kibaki must be a toddler.

Indeed through out the long political career of Mwai Kibaki he has been a lone ranger in the way he plays his politics. Lone rangers are impossible to advice and are set in their ways (whether they work or not). That character in the president is about to earn him yet another place in the history books for the wrong reasons. Legal experts say that there is more that enough evidence to prosecute Mwai Kibaki when he leaves office for various crimes. In sharp contrast Daniel Toroitich arap Moi, that perfected Machiavellian master of the political game was a listener and listened to everybody. That is the secret behind his long survival. And what is more he covered his legal backside admirably. The man must have read Mario Puzo’s classic, The Godfather, several times. I mean he was very careful whom he gave orders to and of course he signed nothing. The result is that nobody can pin him down for any of his many sins against the Kenyan people let alone prosecute him successfully.

Mwai Kibaki is a whole different kettle of fish. The when-I-was-lecturing-in-Makerere President has been way too careless. So careless that his handlers are having sleepless nights now wondering how they can scheme a peaceful retirement for the man under whose watch the country sunk into tribal chaos and its’ deepest crisis ever.

Take it from me, if that man lives long enough, prepare yourself to see him in images transmitted all over the world, surrounded by a battery of lawyers facing serious charges but still as headstrong as ever as to how his legal defence should be handled. And he may just be right once again. The way he was right about Obama, the referendum and how Kenyans can never elect a “Jaruo young man” as president... even if the incumbent fell asleep in State House and forgot there was an election until the last 3 months or so.

  2. Chris,

This is a pointless regurgitation of your mental wanderings about Kibaki. We all know who Kibaki is and who he is not. You are not adding value to the national discussion about the Waki's report.

People are on PM's side for full implementation. Someone should tell Ruto to go easy on his guilty conscience. Unlike the victims of RV violence, he will have a chance to proclaim his innocence.

  3. Evidently, sustaining a blog is not easy. My sympathies and kudos. But it defeats me how any adult can write the same thing over and over and over unless with defective and/or deficient grey matter. At least Concerned George, for what it was worth, tried to showcase his tribulations with shipping home handouts from his foreign masters. I would be remiss not to state (begging bowl mentality notwithstanding) that I sure hope someone can help him get the handouts out to their intended destination.

    Back to the current post.
As usual, filled with rumors, innuendo and malice.
Emilio is likely to be the least hit by whatever the findings of the tribunal or the Hague because it is still rather ambiguous, in a heavily ethnicized/polarized society quite clearly reflected in the enforcement institutions, just what the reach of his interventions could have been in a situation of such severe conflict. Indeed, even the alleged statehouse meetings can be quite easily blown off to hell.

I do not see any direct evidence to connect this man Emilio to anything but the high and well documented economic growth rates and suchlike that were so rudely interrupted by ODMs (read Raila’s) lust for power and penchant for violence and anarchy.

For others, the channels of involvement in murder and mayhem are rather direct and unambiguous, and as days go by we get even more insights, thanks to Ruto’s ( and previously Ntimama’s) outbursts. So rather than write about Emilio, a more topical issue would be the seemingly impending implosion of ODM.

My sense is that whichever way the hammer falls both Ruto and the bumpkin are monumentally screwed. The one, in due course for sustained involvement in ethnicide, the other for aiding and abetting the same and who in all probability will UNLIKELY have his prolonged thirst for Kenya’s presidency quenched as his so-called (hate)‘movement’ crumbles to dust.
    Poor chap. Poor, POOR chap!

  4. Chris,

I have a confession to make. I always enjoy your posts sana, even when you are saying nothing.

However today I am in your corner.

For us to understand the present and future it is important to constantly analyze the past. This man Emilio's character as so well portrayed here is the single main reason why Kenya is where she is now... seconds away from disaster and the final shut down.

Kudos Chris and please write more often.

B-carotene, This is not about you.
I like the fact that you're in denial over the FACT that the hague is going to get Kibaki. Ocampo is the man to be concerned about & the chilling message via Musa Sirma to the Kenyan government is still ringing in their ears.
P.S. AND TO ANON 12:09 AM, THE HAGUE IS COMING & ONE MWAI KIBAKI HAS A DATE, LIKE IT OR NOT. THAT IS THE POINT OF ALL OF THIS!
    Your denial not withstanding.

  6. Am i the only one sick and tired of this mine is bigger than yours nonsense in KK? We are in a hole, and no one is concerned about how we are going to get out.

It's not because we lack the brains to do so... Judging from some of the comments we get here, we have enough brains. But the most eloquent are busy helping us dig deeper! Everything is seen from that tribe perspective!

When are we going to stop seeing little Kikuyus or little Luos at every corner out to torment us? When are we going to start seeing a Kenyan in every Luo or Kikuyu?

Look, the rest of us have also been VICTIMIZED, and we also have a sense of ENTITLEMENT

  7. Anon @12:47 am. I hear you. But alas, you fall into the same snare that you so meticulously expose.

  8. B-carotone,

You have every right to support and speak positively on Mwai Kibaki, but you have NO right to decide for the rest of us on who amongst all Kenyans can offer himself or herself to be elected president.

We been through this path many times before and it is your kind of ILK who have this misplaced superiority complex that leadership is but a monopoly for a few keep singing the tired line of economic growth since 2003!

And as we all witnessed last year, these attitudes - that Chris so aptly describes in his post - failed miserably in December 2007 and it required FRAUD and MASS MURDER of untold proportions to guarantee Kibaki's continued stay at state house.

Because corruption, fraud, ethnicity and incompetence are like the second names of those leaders you are trying to glorify, it is no surprise that democracy and free speech remains alien to you and therefore you consider a difference of opinion as an 'implosion' in ODM.

Spare us the nonsense. It appears, everyone else apart from you knows Kibaki's presidency is the biggest disaster ever to have occurred in this country. Be it on economy, health, education, governance, lifestyle or whatever, Kenya has been on reverse gear since 2003. You only need to visit the archive of this blog to see the debates we have had with many people like you over the years, most of whom realized the folly of presenting half baked facts and political myths on this forum.

There are a million and one highly incriminating evidence to send him to the gas chamber.. Additionally, it is apparent his continued stay at the helm does not augur well if his inaction on the Kriegler and Waki reports is anything to go by. Kenya is just doomed because of failed leadership.

PS. Sustaining a blog is not easy, but reading it is equally very addictive as can be seen from you daily appearances here.

  9. Chris writes...'forget those silly stories about Kibaki giving Obama's dad a job'.Hmmh,so what doesnt fit in your analysis of the man is a silly story. What makes you think that we will take what you write about him as the gospel truth and not more SILLY STORIES?

  10. Chris, you are a fucking mentalist.
BTW, which legal experts have had advance disclosure of evidence implicating el presidente?
Are you privy to sensitive documents obtained from the commission?
Time and again, this blog's postings are based on nothing but conjecture and malicious falsehoods overheard in bars and dreamt up by the authors.

"There are a million and one highly incriminating evidence to send him to the gas chamber.."

I just love internet lawyers. Of course your years of experience prosecuting perpetrators of crimes against humanity qualify you to make that statement.
Can we just wait until the 'list' of suspects is released or are we gonna speculate on the alleged perpetrators repeatedly without any qualification?

PS. I await ODMorons implosion with keen interest.

  11. You may attack old Kibaki till cows come home but don't forget people get leaders that they deserve. Moi used to have sycophants who would send different mixed messages in the media to conceal their boss' true stand until the last minute when Moi would pull one hot trick up his sleeve.

You can almost pity Old Emilio as he tries hard to govern ungovernable, ungreatful,, tribalized nation of mostly illiterate people who hate each other amid despicable acts of wickedness. Who can forget the horrendous images of sceaming kids being tossed back into flaming inferno as they tried to flee an Eldoret church which had been torched by hired thugs. So Much for mass akson!

Even if Kenya was to get a saint for president, he would find it hard to lead our narrow tribal minds, which is the curse of Africans. I'm sorry but I don't see any real change in the next one hundred years when we have the likes of Ruto calling for mass murder of an entire tribe only to smile from ear to ear in the evening news posing as statesmen!

  16. Joe,

You're not the only one sick and tired. The only reason I blog here is because I enjoy writing objectively and sharing my opinions which may or may not help anyone.
But, I am actually tired, very tired infact I am beginning to wonder whether Kenya will ever be a normal state.

As of now, I am gonna concentrate on Rama Yade, mark that name, ladies and gentlemen.
Rama Yade, is a French politician born in Africa, Dakar, Senegal who is destined to become French first black president. And to make the matter more appetizing Rama is a she! Already she is a high flying minister in president Sarkozy's government and she is only 32 years old!
Rama is the talk of the town. Gentlemen, google her, she has also featured on men magazine top 100 sexiest women in the world!

My question is why are we African exporting political talents and here we are left behind this tribal rumbling? What is the purpose of this post Chris? Yes, Kibaki has a flawed character, just like you and I, but what do we get out this post?
Why don't we've an inspiring post that will inspire people to do great things or something along those lines?

Let Rama Yade and Obama be an inspiration to all of you!

  17. Been headstrong, stubborn and opinionated are just some of the qualities i would want in a president. Infact i think any president and leader for that matter must have such qualities ... but there must be other qualities that must also come in like having a listening ear.

However Chris i would not be so harsh on Kibs knowing that all those that went for formal schooling in the colonial days and are around his age ... they all think the same and you can tell them nothing. They are some of the people we heavily invested in as a nation in those days and look where they have brought us. In some ways they were correct but their relevance is over. They are the people who made the big mistake of letting formal education get in their way of learning ... and its already late to sort them out.
That said I will feel nothing seeing him behind bars.

Good news is that nothing lasts forever. The end to bad leadership is near and we have to get ready of the next step. Its no point of us to keep complaining and doing nothing ... we would rather shut-up. One reminder- we don't have the time to keep complaining ... the dogs don't need Kenya.

    Joe,
Tafadhali wacha kukasirika. My friend that does not add any value ... in the real sense your digging yourself deeper into the hole.

You see Kibaki was a genious who earned 1st class for his second BSc and to him all Kenyans are like the villagers he used to lord over as baffoons as he remain the only genious standing. Leaves you wondering whether the economics on yore are any useful. But that is adding fuel to the vitroil flame.

Come on expand the box and stop bandying cheap stereotypes. The fact that you cannot make it doesn't incapacitate others, or does it? Speak of an inferiority EPIDEMIC.

Kibaki's know-it-all and CONTEMPT for Kenyans is clearly evident among his apologists too. To them all others are PUMBAVU. BTW he meant every letter of the word. Let the dogs come barking.

as a human being there is much value to his headstrongness, stubborness and opinions. don't forget the man has 2 wives(1 in public stupid) any true African monogamous man needs the temerity to continuously throw spanner in the works and be set in their ways immovable like a mgumo tree unfallible with a razor. i am sure he is a good father and as well as a qualified economist

As a president Mwai Kibaki matches the job description as far as the constitution is concerned(he is over 35 and an MP period) but he has failed to be a leader that can match the great expectations of his people using the good will they gave him to rise to the occassion and be ittle more than a mere prop for a country once voted the most optimistic people in the world

pockets but at least we can almost reason why he had included Ignorance in his agenda.

Ignorance will destroy this country after all is said and done. I woke up this morning only to find the press reporting that Gen Ruto is pocketing all his tribesmen in his deep pockets and prostitute them to another higher bidder as if they are his own personal plaything.

And please don't laugh, this is a young turk who wants to lead this country never mind the fact that he's an overnight billionaire who can't explain his huge wealth and all the graft charges hanging on his neck.

Forget the fact that most Kenyans are illiterate- over 50$ and willing to be enslaved, raped and prostituted by our scumbag politicians. I was in Nairobi West the other day and saw all these kids who pour in daily from Kibera selling 'njugus' and I was like, "What chance have they got, shouldn't they be in school?"

Before they are in their 20's they will certainly have been assimilated by the Mungikis and Kamjesh of this country. Frankly, the future is not very orange for them, pardon the pun. It's very grim indeed, to state the bleedin' obvious. Only a squeaky clean Obama type can redeem us and as sure as the sun rises he's not in the current crop of our tax dodging hyenas called politicians. Lord have Mercy!

Yes w ehave a long way to go but there is no comparison to Moi days when the country was dilapidated going to the dogs. Yes Kibaki is not perfect and its okay to criticize. But it seems you guys are simply driven by tribal hatred pure and simple.

Am glad Raila is not the president and probably will never be. Just imagine if he won and all those Kikuyus in Rift Valley would have still being evicted. Then the controversial Majimbo (or is Ugatizi) would have been implemented. Vision 2030 would have been trashed and a vision 2020 (ignoring all the study research and consultancy). I just shudder to imagine what would have happened to this country.

My gosh! Why do ignorant Kenyans love to worship and adore wazungu as if they are the only solution to their endemic problems and cesspool infested wounds. LOL!

Truth be told the "nyama choma ambassadeur" was a nobody in Washington DC, let alone in American influential circles dealing with foreign policy. So, Kenya became his experiment as in his last banana plantation where he could manipulate the adoring farm-hands and their banana media.

LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL!

Village Chief Arap-Wise-Moi is no longer the haunting president of a neocolonialist regime and nation. HE is out and gone for good.

In the meantime, Kenya's decaying image alongside it's political, social, economic and ethnic problems still fester years after the "nyama choma liberations". What happened? What became of its momentum? Did the bunch of opportunistic hyenas and snakes take over?

LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL!

I can't for the day when wananchi, hyenas, snakes and the usual legions of chang'aa frothing mobs march to the US embassy "demanding that the ambassador adddress them" in the same manner the British settlers used to address farm hands who were very angry at the "nyapara" farm prefects.

LOL! Has anything changed since the address by the late "nyama choma balozi"?

Poor Kenyans still await their wasungu messiah to liberate them form their own political, economic and ethnic cesspools.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK until December, 2028.

  33. Chris,

Kibaki has his weaknesses, just like you and me. He is, however, the president that we have, and we are stuck with him for a while.

By the way you need to be objective when writing about stubbling blocks for opposition unity in the 90s. Why do you conveniently ignore the role played by Jaramogi, Shikuku, Matiba, Raila(party-hopper), Orengo, Muite, Nyong'o, etc? For example, Jaramogi could not work with Matiba, hence the split of original FORD to FORD Asili (Matiba) and FORD Kenya (Jaramogi). It is well documented that after Jaramogi passed on, the infighting in FORD-Kenya was as a result of Raila fighting to inherit the chairmanship left by his father. When he was defeated by Wamalwa in a democratic election, what did he do? Instead of working with Wamalwa he decided to form another party (was it NDP?)

Meanwhile, Kibaki stuck with his DP 1992,1997 and 2002. Actually, in 2002, it was after Raila and company (Orange) realised they were headed no where that the joined Kibaki and formed NARC.

On the Waki 10, whoeverer is on the list (whether Raila, Kibaki, Ruto, etc) should not be considered as guilty, only that they have a case with the prosecutor. They will have all the opportunity to defend themselves. That is why i read something different emanating from the RV.

Fact. Raila did not come up with the list of 10. Why do they want to blackmail the guy? I think, just like the pre-planned PEV in RV, Ruto's parting of ways with Ruto has been in the works for a while. Waki and Mau Forest have just provided the perfect excuse. What a batch of opportunists. But they are hesded to the road of (gladly) self-destruction.

    Thank you, Waki.

Kibaki himself would note vote for kibaki given the chance so he luaghs at all his so called upporters.....The guy is a spineless wimp, and has done nothing but protect thieves, now the seeds he planted have ripened to fruit and it will drive him insane.

The sad reality is that kenyans are so used to mediocrity that for someone to be better that kibaki he must at least look a abit like him, unfortunately the leaders we need are the polar opposite of kibaki and some people have not the capacity and tools needed to appeciate that person,

If our so called kenya Obama was to raise up today.....just like jesus when he first came his own people will not know him.....infact the crucified him in preference to a crook,....our tribal blinkered minds will not do us any good.....

I don't know about kibaki the person but Kibaki as president is the worst kind of failure you will ever find, competing only with president G.W Bush......
Kibaki had so much goodwill, so much trust and so many 'good' people to work with but he squanderd it big time. sucess must always be measured by the opportinities, and challenges......Dispite dissing the MOU if he gave a us a new constituion that we wanted and killed corruption the likes of RAO would be history, but he did not!!!!

The guy was never a leader of the kenyan people he was a kikuyu leader, and bearly tolerating other lesser, 'lazy' tribes....they started insulting everyone long before "adui"....kibaki set his own exam and passed himself.....the things we elected him to do he did not do.. starting by dissing our leaders..... He focused on fighting political opponents instead of corrupt people and thats how he lost it....
Lets face it he screwed up THATS THAT!!!!!!!!The guy is a clinical IDIOT IQ 20-30

Your drivel cannot go unchalleged, anybody with the attitude that kenyanas are ungreatfull should somply be hanged...the most ungreatfull kenyan is Emelio...we gave him our full support, RAO dusted him from the shelf.....the only ungreatfull people have been kikuyus, the ruined kenya under kenyatta and on Njojo fought a thanksless war to civilise them but we put all that behind and elected one of their own as a kenyan, but guess what they ungrefully went back to the same old tribal crap we thought we had put behind us I have very many educated kikuyu people who told me that kikuyus saw it as thier gov and were ready to keep it that way at any cost.....so just shut the fuck up with you ungreatfull kenya dog poo.
the Question you don't want to unswer is this why was it that inspite of M01 ruling for so long and every kenyan assuming that thw language cops spoke was kalengin we never felt that kenya was bieng kalengised but under kibaki, the kikuyu made it very clear that they owned the country.......what happened between 2002 and 2007.....I will tell you kinabi failed, just like bush failed and Obama won..presidents do FAIL and people get tired...the smae peole who put you in office can vote you out...GROW UP! that is democracy thats what you call ungreatfull its called DEMOCRACY and if you try to abuse it hell tends to break loose.

have you heard? 'give me liberty or give me death'

  40. Sir Alex, the not-so-great.

there goes the tribal rant again. you are assuming that I am a kikuyu only because I echoed what I thought were very insightful comments about the state of Kenyan politics.

You have gone on a tirade against Kikuyus yet some Kikuyus did not support Kibaki at all and most who did did so because they could cite practical improvements that had resulted from 5 years of Kibaki being in power. Of course some Kikuyus are tribalist and will only support a Kikuyu president but that cuts along all tribes too.

I cannot, dear Sir Alex, disparage say, the whole Luo community just because I disagree with Raila. Not even the barbaric genocide that was meted out against my people by the residents of Rift Valley could bring me to demonize Kalenjins en masse; because I know in the midst of that violence, there were families that took Kikuyus in and sheltered them at their peril.

The fact that I have also known and becomes friends with decent Luo and Kalenjin people prohibits me from harboring generalized prejudice...internet anonymity notwithstanding.

I'll tell you this; if Kenya has to produce an Obama, it will have to be someone who sees through this mist of tribal retrogression. A person who (unlike you, sir) is capable of understanding that all that matters is good leadership regardless of the ethnicity of the guy at the helm. A person who has the temerity to even go against his people's (tribal opinion) and recognize the importance of UNIVERSAL JUSTICE for the sake of POSTERITY...that if Killing a Kikuyu in Rift Valley is wrong, no matter the excuse, then Killing a Luo in Naivasha is just as wrong.

The CHANGE needed in kenya is a thorough cleansing of our minds so that we begin seeing each other as (at least) fellow human beings and then after (hopefully) fellow compatriots. And much of the divisive talk here on Kumekucha certainly does not lead us towards that direction.

    3. Murderers, rapist, beheaders of innocent kenyans...
PNU under Kibaki, uhuru, michuki, Karume, Martha Karua(though now she is trying to distance herself but kenyans know better... she was daily on BBC supporting Kibaki 's order to the police to kill kenyans...

No kenya will ever forget watching Karua with he big mouth on BBC:):)

cicero..without a doubt I'm The Great and together with many other great kenyans we elected on Emelio in 2002 to carry the torch......why do you focus on what we did after he dissapointed us and not the faith we placed in him in 2002?

In 2002 we saw beyond tribe! we were brought backwards, thats the truth...cecero you should stop seeing kenya thru blinkered eyes kibaki is a failure, to fail is to have missed the mark the mark set....he did a lot of good things but he missed the main reason he was elected 1. Wanjiku constitution a.k.a Bomas draft.
    2. Detribalise kenya...creat a perception of inclusiveness.
    3. Kill coruption ....on those three counts he failed misrably whatever esle he did was his own paper we were not marking it...he can award himself a world cup and give it to his wife.....but as kenyans HE FAILED US!

  46. Alex,

I do not disagree with the general points you raised above. I do also have legitimate differences with the way Kibaki ran the country. He made a good CEO but a poor leader of a fatally fractured nation.

What I am on guard against is the implication of shared guilt by the entire Kikuyu community. If Raila is an affective politician, he should have made it his responsibility to articulate to the Kikuyus how poor leadership from Kibaki was hurting them the most...instead he chose a populist approach that pitted tribe against tribe. Majority of the poor people are Kikuyus; it therefore follows that they suffer the most from poor leadership even if the guy at the top is their tribe; his being there can only reasonably favor a few of his cronies.

By making the kikuyus feel besieged, as it surely did happen in the run up to Election 07 and the fear manifested itself later. The Kibaki opponents/ ODM forced Kikuyus to coalesce around Kibaki, even when some would not have been so enthusiastic about him. They did this not because of tribalism but a basic human instinct called self-preservation.

The mentality of guilt by ethnic accident is the same one that possessed neighbor to raise against neighbor because there was a feeling that elections had been rigged. The truth is, those who died as a result of the way election 07 was handled, have never and would never even be let close to the gate of state house.

What is this "tribal bond" anyway? Where do we see it during our normal course of living? If our economy gets ruined, would a fisherman in Kisumu suffer differently from a peasant farmer in Nyeri? Among the poor people, what matters is QUALITY LEADERSHIP...there is not a tribe in Kenya numerically small enough to benefit from a bad leader just because he happens to be from that tribe. POOR LEADERSHIP will hurt all across the board.

In addition, a Kenyan Obama will have to have the leadership qualities that somehow prevail in showing Kenyans that tribe does not really matter. It is going to be tough, especially with the knowledge that it is always easy to revert to the safety of playing tribal to galvanize a big enough coalition of hate to propel one to the state house. But that is why i call him a Kenyan Obama, perhaps because we may never find one.

  47. Taabu, the madman of Kumekucha, is choking again on his Kikuyu hatred. Kikuyus were in Kenya before you were born and they will be here long after your cold body is wrapped in an Orange kitenge (most likely the one that Ivil keeps in her coakroaches-filled drawer). My sugestion is that you visit a psychiatrist to help you cope with the omnipresent Kikuyus.

Most of the rants here from well known ODM blackshirts are just a manifestation of the gut wrenching fear that the exalted messiah is slowly losing his grip on the prize, that 2012 OR even before will not be the year of sunlight, and that the cherished dream of strutting the landscape like peacocks may be never happen in their lifetimes. 52. Something is seriously wrong with this guy called Ruto. He seems to retreat into a tribal cacoon day by day. It seems the spirits of the victims of the RV violence are haunting him day and night.

He knows very well that he is almost finished, and he is determined to go down with Raila, and sadly, with the Kalenjin community.

Let him turn his back on Raila if he is a man. Bure Kabisa.

  57. Taabu, Raila is just living up to his encoded DNA and reputation for use and dumped, now HE is getting dumped. You guys follow him to the ditch time and time again, all because he is unable or incapable of crafting a party devoid tribal connotations. Ati Western Alliance(Luo, Luhya and Kalenjin), the ODM core, and now the Kalenjin want to bolt, making the ODM weaker especially since the Luhya are very unreliable voters. Why can't he form a party based on his so called principles of fighting for the common man? Did he have to make alliances with the likes of Ruto? When you lie with dogs, you get fleas.

I can only hope the regulars of Kumekucha are some low lifes with access to Internet.

Because if these are the intellectuals then Kenya is totally fucked!!

Reading through the bullshit makes you realize why we end up with people like kibaki, raila, ruto etc etc as our so-called leaders.

It is evident people get the leaders they deserve and from what i have just read we clearly deserve the murdering and thieving men masquerading as leaders.

Totally disappointed but i still believe they will be a better Kenya and i am proud to be part of Generation Kenya..visionary Kenyans under 40 who are not blinded by tribe and filled with hate and overcame with guilt.

    GOD BLESS KENYA!

  68. Hello. My wife and I bought our house about 6 months ago. It was a foreclosure and we were able to get a great deal on it. We also took advantage of the 8K tax credit so that definitely helped. We did an extensive remodeling job and now I want to refinance to cut the term to a 20 or 15 year loan. Does anyone know any good sites for mortgage information? Thanks!
