Of Kass FM and Moi’s Revenge Mission

The threat to suspend Kass FM’s broadcasting licence must be seen as wider failure of our institutions. The strongly worded letter to the radio station is another classic case of selective application of the law. Those Kenyans who are gifted to speak and understand numerous local dialects will readily attest that Kass’s case is blown out of proportion to serve political and selfish interests.

It was no surprise that the threat to Kass came in the heat of Moi’s warning to ban vernacular stations claiming they preach hatred. Well, the truth is that Toro is crying foul for being outwitted in his own game. His stands on his plastic moral pedestal oblivious of his own neck deep partnership to fertilize the same malice he is condemning. By using proxies Moi is simply seeking political revenge on the Kalenjins whom he thought were at his beck and call. The old man is is livid with anger at the trashing of his reputation and subsequent thrashing of his sons at the last polls. How I wish he knew we live in a different age and era where elites can reach villagers in the first tongue. Uncle Dan’s antics through his connections in the present regime simply amount to a passionate poisoned Kiss to Kalenjins.

Besides exposing failed institutions the reprimand to Kass is a shameless case of double standards. There is no worse tribal incitement that what is packaged as parables aimed at denigrating others as lesser human beings. Fear of the elite brainwashing the villagers using their mother tongue doesn’t wash. Which is more threatening and demeaning between Kass letting callers contribute to amnesty debate and Ngugi campaigning in his mother tongue to warn his tribesmen never to allow WOLVE to take charge of the flock?

Coloured deception
The government is only acting smart in glossing the fear of unity amongst the Kalenjins. How paradoxical it is that Kass is being accused for mobilizing the Kipsigis to vote for their own in Kilgoris while the government unwittingly falls for the tribal bait in reminding the Masaais to reject domination by outsiders? Replicate the government’s cheap politics in the wider Rift Valley and see the hypocrisy and futility of the so-called reconciliation and healing.

The government’s fear is premised in the fact that radio is a vital tool of communicating to the villagers. Radio does not only entertain the rural folks, it educates and mobilizes them into a common course. The political and ruling elite is simply running scared of the fear of reverse domination. Fear mongering has no place in the present political dispensation. Moi tried demonizing the opposition by running Rwanda genocide strips and it didn’t fly. Similarly demonizing the vernacular FM stations by drawing the misplaced 1994 Rwanda analogy must be told to the birds so that they fly high in the sky. We must disabuse our rulers of deception in its shades.

  2. Isn’t it a pity that Chris uses his blog to preach tribal hatred and encourage some primitive tribes (Kalenjins and Luos) who think they are untouchable to break the law? He cheers them on when they slaughter innocent people, evicts people from their farms, loot and damage property. He then turns around and demands amnesty when the killers, murders and looters are arrested. Is there a special law in Kenya that is preserve for the two primitive tribes?

In the on-going KASS FM saga, Chris should be in the fore-front in advocating for fair application of the law. KASS FM is not the only one which has broken the law by preaching tribal hatred. Others have done it with impunity. You don’t demand the fleeing of one thieve because others are still at large. You demand that the law be applied on the one arrested and demand the arrest of the rest. That’s fair game.

The defence Chris has given KASS FM is understandable. His blog is worse off than KASS FM as it breaks every rule in journalism. In fact, what Chris practices here is not journalism at all. This is a forum for his Kalenjin and Luo goons to preach hatred against Kukuyus and other communities from the Mt Kenya region. Your tribal hatred stinks.

Kukuyus and other communities from the Mt Kenya region are least bothered by your tribal diarrhea. Your primitive tribes suffer from acute inferiority complexes and there is nothing Kikuyus can do about it. Continue nursing your own tribal frustrations and handovers. Life for Kikuyus will never stop because of you.

  3. Since last year, there has only been one post on this blog that has not had the word Kikuyu or kibaki in it.

What a sad and fustrated man you must be Chris. Wake up dreaming of kyuks, spend the whole day spewing hatred aganist poor innocent people trying to eck out a living in a harsh world and go to sleep with kyuks on your mind. there is far more to life than kikuyus Chris. And you are worth far moe than this garbage you spew here.

Cleanse your insides, go for therapy or something to deal with your anger issues then come amd do something useful with the skills and resources that God has given you I mean, you could make millions out of this blog but which advertiser would want to put his brand name in a hate blog? a blog populated by broke ass, frustrated teenagers and school boys typing hate posts from 50c cyber cafes in eastleign?

Raila and the rest of those dudes you worship are millionaires, their kids go to prestigious schools and so on. and by the way they are united in opposing taxation on their hefy salos. Hakuna mambo ya kyuk sijui kale there. Thats left to falas like you and your pack of dimwits who post here.

get a life boy. leave kyuks alone. Uliwapata hapo na utaenda uwaache hapo tu. Like all people, they are creations of God and unless you want to contest with the All Mighty, you are not going to wipe God's creations off the face of the world. Even your fellow hate monger Hitler came and went and Jews are still there. Hutu murderers came and went and Tutsis are still there. No one can undo what God has done but go ahead dimwit give it a shot and waste the rest of your life full of bile and hate

  7. GRAND REGENCY SCAM

What Orengo revealed yesterday was revealed on this forum ages ago. As late as last week some characters were shamelessly campaigning for blind side winger Amos Kimunya as a likely president of this country. It cannot happen in this era and with such impunity !

It is apparent this Grand Regency deal was SEALED even before the December 2007 elections and despite the ODM high command receiving documentary intelligence on the same, this scandal was NEVER a campaign issue!

Developments at Ardhi House this week were only but to transfer title. The actual deal between government and Libyans was sealed way back in December 2007.

My take is that this wipes of any little credibility that Ringera and his highly paid team had remaining in the eyes of the public. The so called KACC should have been disbanded soon after the Anglo Leasing Scam when John Githongo's famous tape recordings were played on mass media. WHAT A SHAME this is.

In the meantime, it would have been useful for Minister Orengo to name his officers who facilitated the transfer behind his back and also confirm to the public what disciplinary action he intends to take as minister. The buck stops with HIM!

Vikii and Chris - do you still insist with this far fetched theory that Amos Kimunya has kept off CRIME and is thus a racing blind-side winger heading for corner post try (read-presidency) in a pulsating game of rugby?? As Vikii puts it F**KING NONSENSE!

  9. If you listen to KASS FM on a good day you will go away wondering how the Rwandan-type genocide has not occurred in Kenya.

KASS FM is simply a broken sewer spewing barbaric ethnic hatred non-stop. The people who run it don't even pretend to have ever been exposed to any form of decency.

These people are thumping their noses at our national decency and they must be made to understand that there are consequences to their presumed impunity.

  10. TAABU,

Please leave Mzee Moi alone to point out what is ailing our beloved nation and especially the people of RV. What Moi is saying is that someone must exorcise the demons in Kass FM before they spread to the lest of the nation. After the inhuman rapes and murders committed by listeners of Kass early this year, a vigilant nation can not idly stand by as Kass prepares its listeners for a second round of ethno-barbarism.

  11. Phil, I do not defend people blindly. Orengo has done the right thing to go public with these shenanigans. The onus is now on Kimunya to come clean about the accusations. If he is in it, he should give answers to the kenyan people, resign and go to jail. I now challenge you to say the exact same thing about the ODM criminal ministers because like everybody knows, we have a great deal of them there, actually more than any other party.

About Kimunya's Presidential ambitions, Phil, I never said Kimunya should be a candidate. I never said I would vote for him. I said that based on what his public service has been like so far, he may emerge as a serious candidate in a decade or two.

Just for the record, Phil, I am not, I've never been and I will never be a member of the PNU, NARC-K or any of those other parties. I am a member of ODMK and my candidate has always been Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka. If he joins any of these parties and ODMK doesn't field a Presidential candidate, I will vote for a candidate whose Party's policies and the character of both its leadership and the general membership I am comfortable with.

  12. Vikii,

We are together! A vote for Kalonzo is a vote for a stable and prosperous future of all the Kenyan people regardless of tribe. He won my heart during the post-election violence period. He was the only national politician who repeatedly and genuinely called for an end to the violence. You could tell that he was deeply pained by what was happening to our country. I come from Murang'a and I look forward to when Kalonzo can visit our slopes to discuss with us how we can achieve a post-ethnic Kenya.

  13. For ANON 8:25 PM. You are one agry man. We cant help you in here. Relax and enjoy matunda ya Uhuru na kazi. Not this thiefing mentality you all seem to worship. If you dont like it here get out.

We all know that PNU is in it to steal and loot. You think they took the trouble to steal the elections and serve you and me? Never. They are in it to enslave us and loot from us until they die. Its a matter of time and this will stop. No Kimunya to sell Grand regency corruptly...no killing our youths and say you dont know where they are, no Anglo leasing and no brandy Kibaki/uhuru to make us worship their 'working hard'read land grabbing and stealing money.

By the way, I thought Kimunya said he will sell the hotel by public auction. Surely Orengo should have been informed on a transfer as big as this. ODM just have to deliver what they can and MAKE SURE THEY STOP SUCH TRANSACTION! THATS WHY THEY ARE THERE! AND THIS RINGERA GEMA CHARACTER DOES HE KNOW HE IS ALSO MORTAL? AS HE DOES HIS NEXT STRATEGY HOW TO AID THE NEXT WAVE OF CORRUPT DEALS LET HIM REMEMBER THE POOR KENYANS THAT ARE GOING WITHOUT FOOD. NO MEDICATION FOR THEIR LITTLE ONES. NO DECENT SCHOOL TO SEND THEIR CHILDREN TO. AND HOW MUCH DOES HE EARN FOR HIS CORRUPT EFFORTS...YES TELL ME A COOL 2,000000.00 KSH PER MONTH. GOOD HEAVENS! SOMEONE TELL ME THERE IS HOPE...IAM SCREAMING MY HEAD OFF...

  14. This is what is appearing to be the normal way of doing things in Kenya. Justice is applied only when it fits to serve a political purpose. This Justice and constitutional MINISTRY SHOULD BE GET RID OF. iTS MAKING IT HARD TO APPLY JUSTICE EVEN TO THE MT KENYA FOLKS. Whats happening with kass is not new with all the other radio stations. Shut all of them or else we will finally agree that time is right for Mt Kenya to run their own affirs.

  15. Off the post. Ati LSK (The Chairman) is opposing tax plans on judges allowances ati coz they earn peanuts...So as to attract quality lawyers...And at the same time defended military operations in Mt. Elgon. And he was supposed to be a watchdog for the people of Kenya!!!

So imagine this guy becoming your MP tomorrow...He will just refuse to pay taxes...And we keep on talking abt kenyan Mps...I have concluded that we just make noise coz we are not the ones in those positions!!!!I am disappointed

  16. Anon 8:25 PM, stop your lies. It is not only Kalenjins and Luo's who read and post on this blog. I know several Luyha's, Kisii's, Giriama's, Digo's and Maasai's who read, post comments and have a high opinion of Kumekucha.blogspot.com

They can see where the truth lies and where the deception, lies and fraud comes from - from the "Panua" side

  17. Anon 8:25, PUUUULLLLIZZZZZ..Define "PRIMITIVE"? If stealing an election in broad day light is not, then tell what is. If undressing women wearing pants & trying to circumcize them forcefully in the name of cultural "purity" is not, then tell me what is.

Why do these KIKUYU APOLOGIST always turn every discussion into KIKUYU this, KIKUYU that, PRIMITIVE TRIBE this, PRIMITIVE tribe that, please, if you cannot engage in meaningful and focused discussion in light of seeking validation, you really do not have to respond to and divert the discussion at hand.

KENYA HAS 41 OTHER TRIBES, you do not see them showboating or the lack thereof on every discussion. Who damn cares about these KIKUYUS who seem to seek attention and the wrong kind anywhere and everywhere.

PLEASE STICK TO THE DISCUSSION AT HAND or don't let the door....

I dont think you are stupid, I it for a fact. Those people you idolize here, they are all thieves and they are rich because of it. I know that too because what I do for a living allows me to know that.

There are no angels in kenyan politics. One day it will all be laid out in the open and you and those PNU kondoos will feel like idiots because all along you have been attacking your fellow victims on behalf of the parasites eating you.

But who am I to educate fools? go ahead and dream about luos and kikuyus.

  19. Phil, you never fail to amaze me. How can you use the word "Credibility" and "KACC (read Ringera)" is the same sentence? KACC (Mwiraria calls it "Anti-Kenya Corruption Commission) has never and will never have any credibility. Full stop!

To the issue of the day, if Kass is a threat to national security, the ban it. But let's ask one question; Who between KASS FM and PNU is a threat to national security?

Anon 12.44, Kalooser behaved the way he did because he had nothing to loose. Why can't you admit it? He will never rule this country, whether through a Coup or an election, we can bet on that!! He will only rule in case this lame duck passes away, but that will only be for 90 days! Kalonzo had to potray himself as a nationalist because he was a trojan horse, working for Kibaki secretely!

I have a big problem with the tribal hatred being peddled in this blog. That's why I say, the Grand Coalition is just a temporary ceasfire. There's some "unfinished" business and it's upon our politicians to take us towards the right direction. Will they?? I doubt. My dislike for Kalonzo stems from his opportunistic nature. He paints a picture of a reasonable politician in public, but when that reason is tested, he can never stand up and be counted. For that reason, to me, Kalonzo is just a COWARD!!!

Always, Chief Dr. Al Hajj, M.A. (Minus Opportunity) Nanga, MP.
