Daring Mungiki Now Knock Kibaki’s Door

Secure in the knowledge that Kibaki is neck-deep in the murk, daring Mungiki is confidently knocking at his door complete with threats to boot. Mungiki is not only threatening brimstone and economic shutdown of Nyeri on Sunday but also has the audacity to demand the release of their convicted leader Maina Njenga. And the murderous sect is reading from the same script with Njenga issuing threats to police from inside prison.

You don’t have to live in a banana plantation to create a banana republic. Mungiki is simply hitting hard Kibaki's soft underbelly. They know almost the whole lot of Central Kenya leaders are complicit in using them in the post election violence. Naming the cabinet has closed violent and tribal rent-seeking avenues. The industrious sect knows when to demand their pound of flesh cleverly clothed as ransom.

One thing is clear from the present Mungiki dare devil antics. Kenya’s intelligence system has been proved wanting once again. Make no mistake about the competence of NSIS staff. They remain one of the most qualified south of Sahara and north of Limpopo. The problem is sabotage from within. Kibaki packed NSIS’s top echelon with his tribesmen but disenfranchised real intelligence foot soldiers owe their loyalties elsewhere. Gichangi has serially bungled it since his appointment.

Bandit president
Having supped with Mungiki and clandestinely recruited them in the police force, Kibaki finds himself at the mercy of the monster he helped nurture. Mungiki knows all this and with police insider members you cannot fail to see why PS Gituai admitted that they were found napping. Saitoti’s predictable denial is too little too late that only succeeds in soothing his old-schooled ego.

Mungiki’s patronage runs to the apex of Kenya’s government. With an able accomplice in the deputy prime minister they won’t ask for more. We have seen the last of Mungiki yet. The splitter group that was roped in by the police to butcher Virginia Nyakio have bigger scores to settle with both rivals and government. In all this drama almost all Kikuyu MPs will have their mouths zipped lest they are exposed in their previous murderous dalliance with the sect against other Kenyans.

Kibaki set the impunity ball rolling and Mungiki is eating from the very plate. The ripple effect of election theft is one baggage Kenya will carry for quite a long long time. Yes, the truth has the unpleasantly trait of sounding like a stuck record but no matter what it fortunately never mutates. We are in this hole because of the Mungiki president and the militia is having a field days skinning Kenyans’ heads as Kibaki the perpetrator of this heinous crime sits pretty scheming on our to defraud and rape us some more.

Kenyans must be red alert about the devilish plots lurking behind these instigated violence. Assassinations are often excused as collateral for such buildup. The bottom line remain Kibaki's template for ruling Kenya is outdated. The more he tries to lord it over us the more he dives into more goofs. All these bad schemes won't last forever and Kenyans are slowly but surely reclaiming their country back from the bloody hands of the bandit president and his cronies. It is only a matter of time.

  5. Read between the lines -uhuru kiambu,
Nyeri-kabondo wa kabonda, then njenga, then karume god knows from wich province but this are the mungiki headmasters- so who is fooling who?? if i may ask??

Kenyans should demand the truth- i saw the mungiki leader saying that the displaced people in the Rift valley are Veteran Mau Mau's families when the mau mau fighters come from the bush they had no land to come back to so Kenyatta send them to Rift Valley? wy question then is!!shouldn't he be addressing this to Uhuru Kneyatta?? to share his land?? why go on national Media to complain when you know why?? it does not make sense- why should kenyans listen or feel sorry when they all know where your land is and which elite kikuyu's shared it??? Uhuru should answer their question- no wonder at that funeral he attended he was insisting on media that the IDP's should be resettled back into thier land immediately- how about him saying i have land that i do not use and i can share it with them?? such shaite!! Mungiki should ask Uhuru for land on National media- let us here his answer!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. anon 7:25 PM yes yes if i were mungiki i would take the chance on national T.V and ask Uhuru, Michuku, kibaki, karume and all their cronies to share their land and the answer should tell them exactly whether this people they support and work for and die for really care about their landless plight !! right on!! that is a brilliant idea! go on national T.V and demand an asnwer if your mungiki people are worth it to them

in fact i would put it this way- if some of the IDP's do not want to go back??? are this central politicians willing to give them some piece of their land that is laying ideal in the Rift Valley area?? or central ??ha!!ha!! I can't wait for that answer!!

Kibaki repent or?...

  8. During the days after the elections, several commentators stated here repeatedly that "we will unleash Mungiki to tandika you and teach you not to be primitive". I wonder what those folks are saying now that they are perpetrating in Central Province??? I think the worst is yet to come. I just wish Mungiki would stop clowning and just ask their fellow kiuks who've hoarded their land directly, instead of killing and disrupting the lives of innocent Kenyans.

  9. hey did you notice all the people from central on kumekucha are silent?? maybe they are also locked up like the Muranga,Nyandarua and Nyeri towns by mungiki they can't use their key-board:):) pole sana- nobody feels sorry for central because of the nasty spew you unleash on kumekucha when police was shooting people in Kisumu you shouted let the kihii's be slaughtered and when they uprooted the kibera railway line you called them illitrate fools and when they closed themselves in houses and refused to open for business because of police brutality in Kisumu and western - you laughed and called them dumb
and now i wonder what you call your tribes men who uprooted the Dandora railway ?? upto Nakuru railway line?? burning business down and forcing towns like Muranga!Nyandarua!Thika!Nyeri to close down- nobody is allowed to open!!!a fine of 10,000 or to be beheaded!!what a choice!! complete shut down!!and the police can do nothing!!same police who were send to Mt. Elgon to torture and rape innocent kenyans in pretense of looking for the saboats who had already crossed over to Uganda-
so why are they not being used in Muranga?Nyeri?? nyandarua??thika? and other places where the mungiki are terrorising innocent kenyans??? what is the deifference bwtween the mungiki and the saboats??? aren't they doing the same things??? beheading!!murders!!burning houses and businesses!! stoping people to go to work and students to go to school??

where are the central province people to answer this questions?? oops !!I forgot the mungiki gang has locked their keyboard away and they can't post on kimekucha anymore baaah!!!!sob!!sob!! i actually do not miss their filthy spew about other tribes!!ati calling them kihii's and Apes- god ain't asleep!!!you saw what you reap!!!

  10. Mungiki are just a bunch of cowards who cannot stand up to the task, the reason why they are lurking in the wee hours of the morning and at night to terrify the weak. Why didn't they use the opportunity that they were by JK to lay their demands straight against those Central Kenya leaders whom they are accusing of hoarding parcels of land that would have otherwise been given to Mau Mau veterans? Before you think that I am chasing after the wind here, have you considered why these idiots kill and maim women and children instead of facing their opponents in a battle in the open daylight?

I have been shocked that some PNU sympathizers here are shifting blame to ODM. What a bull crap?? If they are of the right mind then I assume that they aware that mungiki had been terrorizing people long before the post-election violence. I wonder to which group these 'sickos' would attribute those heinous crime to? Could they blame such previous acts by Mungiki on Matiba's Saba saba asili movement or to Ngonya wa gakonya daylight dances with hipsters on Nairobi streets with snuff taking individuals in toe? If you know that you are smoking weed then this is not the appropriate forum for people like you.

Mungiki is a central Kenya problem and it is high time the Janjaweed president does something about these characters or he will be surprised he has no home to retire to when State house will no longer be available. As for the leaders who have dined and wined with these lunatics I think it high time that they be exposed because I believe that if the job is left to their constituents to sort them out come next elections nothing much will be done because as their employers constitituents are hypocrites who think that it is their neighbours who are a problem and not themselves because they are "hard working".

The current violence being metted by mungiki in the name of demanding for reparation for past injustices, that in my belief an in-house problem, should be awake up call to the people of central Kenya that their leaders are a cheat and all the lies they have been told in the past decades are hogwash. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news to these people but the more they drag their feet in taking care of this Mungiki problem the bigger the monster will grow and eat them up.

That is what it means to defend your son wanted for robbery, it reaches a time when it is your own property that is threatened by your very "dear" son. These Central leaders are reaping from where they have always planted. Always the last laugh is the most entertaining.

  18. Mungiki is definately a kikuyu problem which should strictly and quickly be discussed and means of containing it be found and applied at athuri meeting. There is no need to play naive and try to nationalise a provincial problem.

I listened to another "expert" on sects (sic) on radio this morning pulling the often abused and overused explanation that in the IDP camps in eldoret and jamhuri were found only old men and women, women and men, and girls and children. That the young men found ways to cope with loss of their land in central alias being permanent idps in rift valley by being recruited in mungiki (sic). The young people ho have been neglected are sprinkled throughout Kenya and are mainly found in North Eastern, Coast and Nyanza. And even they only " protest" genuine causes such as "obvious" electoral theft and other such weighty national matters. Otherwise each region/tribe would have a gang of their own.

I think mungiki should protest against this blatant misuse of their group by politicians for political expediency and their undecent dumping. The only thing they should do is target the real culprits since this is not a national issue and i believe it was willing seller (of thuggery/terrorism) willing buyer (some kikuyu politicians). We were not part of the "i will still elections and reward you" mou and we should not be dragged into it. Even kikuyus who are not part of the movement should be left out of this.

By the way, it now looks real more than ever for those who have closed their eyes to this forever that there are only two tribes in Kenya, the rich and poor. My advice to mungiki is that they should refuse to be used from today onwards by the rich persons from their tribes and join other Kenyans in fighting for justice for all. It's not yet too late because "vijana tusilale, bado mapambano."

If this is only a Kikuyu problem, why the hell should you care?? Ahaaa!

  20. I reiterate

Mungiki was formed to address two issues
    a) cultural deviation - they believe western culture had diluted intrinsic Kikuyu traditional values and this was a way to bring the Kikuyus back to their culture
    b) find means to redress gross injustice perpetuated by Kenyatta in displacing the mau mau from their lands in central and providing them token pieces in other parts eventually leading to a vast number of them settling in Rift Valley
Theif beef is with urbanised elite Kikuyus and remnants of Kenyatta era usurpers

In short its a Kikuyu problem, let them deal with their dome's or lets all agree for Lesotho while they sort it out internally. It should not become a national problem.

  23. You say the most absurd things.

Let’s consider (i) that most Gikuyu MPs are complicit in using Mungiki in the post-election violence, (ii) that most Central Kenya leaders are complicit in using Mungiki in the post-election violence, (iii) that the NSIS staff have deliberately refused to do their duty for ethnic reasons, (iv) that Uhuru Kenyatta is the patron of Mungiki, and (iv) the claim that the very highest levels of the state are patrons, or protectors of, Mungiki.

We’ll pass over the crude Kangura-esque smears: they’re par for the course on Kumekucha. You provide no evidence whatever for any of the very serious claims above, but feel able to assert them. Compare that with the case of William Ruto: there was good independent evidence of his involvement in planning and funding post-election violence; you argued that unless the evidence were of a sufficient quality to convict in a court of law, the claims that he was involved in the violence ought not to be made. The evidential double-standard is obvious.

You ignore facts already in the public domain which make life difficult for your claims. The security services had some information on the Mungiki attacks, ambushes were set for them on Sunday night; the surveillance at Njenga’s house and farm; the very fact that Njenga is under arrest, and that the police had been tracking his wife; the fact that there have been two extraordinarily brutal crackdowns on Mungiki in the last two and a half years; the fact that, only recently, they tried to kill Michuki – partly because his crackdown when he was Minister for transport deprived them of their main source of income; that they have burnt Uhuru in effigy outside his father's tomb - hardly the mark of respect traditionally given to patrons; that they were amongst the first organisations to be banned by the Kibaki government, and so on. By Kagwanja’s account, Mungiki had shrunk to 25% of its size in 2004.

Mungiki are a deeply unpleasant bunch, and the sooner they are put to bed, the better. Your crude attempt to use their doings to smear Central province MPs and other government figures, is beneath contempt.

I must say I do not have evidence to substantiate these allegations. But, why are u so quick to dimiss them yet, so unwilling to do the same in the case of Ruto?

Well this made him rush to sign the deal with Kibaki to save the country even though he got split bones in the form of ministries. Well that's a statesman for you.

And while that was done, mungiki felt cooked up and they are now demanding maripo pare pare.

  31. Whatever there is in the public doamin is treated purely as just that rumours or hearsay.Whether its on mungiki or ruto and to believe it or not will vary from person to person depending on his or her analysis although some is so or too compelling to be asumed in public debate albeit it should not supposed to be used to suit whoever it suits or when it suits one.So like anon 2:56 said he was right.

Mungiki is never and will never be our business until it spreads murk on our faces like when we cant stay longer int the city of nairobi or when the fares hike up 10 fold and or when my distant cousin living in mathare and owns a plot or two is coerced for protection fee as if he never pays taxes and rates to get services from an illegal govt albeit with inept police at the same time.

I rest my case thus far.

  32. Does anyone know there are about forty outlawed militias/vigilante groups in the country?

Does this not say something about the state of our youth today? Disfranchised, disoriented, dysfunctional and easily manipulated by politicians for political gains.

Since that fateful day on December 27, many cheap-to-hire thugs were recruited by ODM to fight against those perceived to have voted for PNU, notably Kalenjin Warriors while Taliban and Bagdad Boys waged their own war directed to PNU supporters in slums and in the Kisumu respectively.
This was followed by waves of reprisals and counter-reprisals which saw 'some long time gone' most dreaded groups like Mungiki, Chinkororo, Sungusungu and Achuma re-surfacing.
Unfortunately two wrongs don’t make a right and now we must reap what our politicians have sown – hate.

This issue of Majiboism /Lesotho should never have been brought up in the first place and it’s should be dropped outright. Much of the violence was blamed on this Majiboism.

The BBC reported that a Gikuyu man had alleged that three senior members of Mungiki had met at State House both before and after the election. That, of itself would not be sufficient to convict in court. Taabu and others argued that if there was any evidence of Ruto’s involvement, then it ought to be given to the police; anything else was, in their terms, udaku, and hence not worth listening to or relying on. When the allegations concern Ruto, only courtroom-standard evidence is acceptable; when the allegations concern PNU, evidence below courtroom quality is acceptable. That is an obvious double-standard, hence the second para of my earlier post.

That argument doesn’t, as you seem to suppose, rely on the claim that there’s no evidence for government complicity with Mungiki
