The Week of Reckoning Finally Here

It is make or break. Time of reckoning is nigh and all eyes are on Kibaki. Will he measure up to the heat and challenge or chose to patronize his predictable insensitive path? Well, in less than 24 hours it will be either of two extremes, jubilation of profound gloom.

History is replete with success cases of coalition governments pulling near-failed states of political meltdown. It has worked before elsewhere and only incorrigible Kibaki apologists would sneak in its inadmissibility in Kenya’s constitution.

Kenya’s constitution doesn’t permit any form of election fraud. Consequently only a shameless application of the same constitution can be used to justify maintaining status quo. The present problem may have been triggered by politics but it has acquired a large life of its own that can only be comprehensively tackled within a broader and inclusive political leadership.

Perils of selective logic
An honest diagnosis of Kenya’s present haemorrhage reveals three ailments: CONSTITUTION, CONSTITUTION AND CONSTITUTION. No amount of deception will gloss over this reality. We must seize this selfishly self-inflicted malady to reshape Kenya for what we want and not what the few want it to be. Such opportunities don’t knock at any door twice, never.

Kibaku MUST accept coalition government to midwife this process. The stakes are high but a time comes when the wider good prevails in overriding all else. Wetangula’s warning for the world to keep off Kenya’s affairs must be treated with deserved contempt as a beneficiary of old order afraid of losing out.

This crisis can only be turned on its head by seizing it to define true Kenya for all Kenyans and not just a few. We owe it to ourselves and the future generation. That would be the only fitting tribute to the more than 1000 Kenyans who lost their lives. Any form of business as usual antics is an INEXCUSABLE BETRAYAL that will expensively haunt us forever.

The world behind Kenya
Kibaki's government may be grudgingly tugging along but the momentum and the international community singularly pulling together in the same direction is on Kenyans' side. We are a country hanging precariously on a swaying cliff. This week holds the key to either a safe landing and prosperity with peace thereafter or we collectively perish.

  1. The only reason that the old guard have wanted the constitution to be the way they want it is so that they can use it in such moments. WE WANT A NEW CONSTITUTION. Goes without saying.
    So what if it is unconstitutional to have a Prime Minister? Is it constitutional to steal an election? Wetangula is beginning to sound like Alfred Mutua as someone put it, very arrogant, disregarding the fact that right now….Kenya doesn’t need that kind of Jibberish. We have a crisis at hand and these people are trying to play ball with Kenya.

  2. Never, there there is already a COALITION government in place. The thing about you ODMers in that you are now trying to arm-twist the government after all your ploys failed. The Million Man March that was meant to march all the way to STATE HOUSE after the barmy swearing of Raila never took place. Your economic sabotage, propagated by a whole prefessor (Nyongo) never materialised and your demands will never look real.

    The forged agreement presented to John Kuffour never had any effect, the trip to Ethiopia failed and the ICC suit in The Hague has flopped even before it is mentioned.

    That Kibaki should share the cabinet posts as ODM wants is a fairy tale. Take the posts you want of stay out.

  3. Well written my friend!!well done.
    Don't worry about Wetangulu most Luhya's despise him check his record- with Moi he sacked up the same way??
    I think he is Martha Karua's mouth piece.. Martha took a break and remember isn't Njenga Karume who Chipped in Karume in reference to Karua "Mwari wa muthambia kioro afataire kuihura/kuithambia mbere...." (The daughter of a toilet cleaner should wipe herself first!) – a derogatory reference to Kirinyaga people whom mainstream Kikuyu refer to as toilet cleaners. The slur was acquired in colonial times when the Kirinyaga dominated the city council cleansing department).

    If Karume can say that then who are we kenyans to disagree??

  6. You're right Taabu this is our best opportunity to reshape Kenya. Kofi has promised to stay until there's a solution to this unfortunate situation we find ourselves in. By the time he said that, he had been around for some time and had already seen first hand the fire and brimstone that some characters in the negotiation team are capable of spewing. Kenyans are waiting and any sign of foul play from either side will be met with an equal measure of resistance. We have already been scorned once and are not in the mood to be scorned again. No medals for guessing which side will continue playing bad boy.

    I doubt any outcome will be met with jubilation as such. Jubilation would have been if the rightful winner was sworn in after elections. Kofi's word when it finally comes will be met with suspicion and a lot of bickering and shifting alliances within leadership for the whole term. Meanwhile Kalonzo and Co. are staring at two grim outcomes of the talks. One, serving in a government that will never really serve and two, having their MOU or whatever it is they have with Kibaki trashed. Kalonzo knows that Kibaki is well practiced in trashing such agreements when it so suits him. He might find himself seeking comfort in Raila's arms one day.

    Anon 8.17 Wetangula has become quite a mouthpiece. Let's hope the people of Sirisia are watching and know what to do to him come 2012.

  14. Did somebody say that somebody is spoiling Koffis Annan's name. Then read this from CNN in 2004

    UNITED NATIONS (CNN) -- U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan said Monday he was "disappointed and surprised" to learn that his son, Kojo, had remained on the payroll of a company involved in the Iraq oil-for-food program, the subject of several corruption probes.

    Kojo Annan received money for consulting work done in Africa for Geneva, Switzerland-based Cotecna Inspection, which was hired to verify whether food, medicine and other goods entering Iraq were on the approved list under the $64 billion oil-for-food program.

    The United Nations previously said the payments stopped after Kojo Annan left the firm in 1997.

    Earlier this year, it revised that statement, saying the younger Annan received money through the end of 1998 under an agreement not to compete with Cotecna in West Africa.

    Cotecna had said the payments to Annan were halted when the firm won the contract to inspect oil-for-food humanitarian shipments starting in December 1998.

    But late last week the United Nations said Kojo Annan had received payments as recently as February 2004 under the non-compete agreement.

    The company said Swiss law required that it continue the payments for the length of time the younger Annan was prohibited from working for a competitor under the agreement.

    At least six investigations are under way into the defunct oil-for-food program -- several in the U.S. Congress and one by an independent U.N. panel headed by former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker. (Full story)

    Kofi Annan told reporters Monday he understands that with this latest oil-for-food news the United Nations faces the perception "of conflict of interests and wrongdoing."

    "Naturally I was very disappointed and surprised," Annan said, when he learned his son had not fully disclosed his continued involvement with Cotecna.

    He said he has spoken with his son, but he declined to reveal what was said.

    Annan said he has "warm family relations with his son, but he is in a different field. He is an independent businessman. He is a grown man, and I don't get involved with his activities and he doesn't get involved in mine."

    Annan said he had no personal involvement in the granting of contracts to businesses that participated in the oil-for-food program.

    He walked away without a response to questions about calls for his resignation in opinion articles published in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times.

    U.N. spokesman Fred Eckhard was quoted by Reuters as saying that those who signed the inspection deal with Cotecna in 1998 contended they did not know that Kojo Annan, then a trainee, worked for the firm at the time.

    No formal charges of wrongdoing have been made against Kojo Annan, who is based in Nigeria.

    Reuters reported that no evidence has been found that he worked on the Iraq project for Cotecna, which also was hired by the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq until mid-2004.

    The oil-for-food program began in December 1996 to alleviate the effect of U.N. economic sanctions on ordinary Iraqis.

    Under supervision by the U.N. secretariat and Security Council, the government of dictator Saddam Hussein was permitted to sell oil and buy civilian supplies. The program was halted after the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.

    In October, former U.N. weapons inspector Charles Duelfer said in a report for the CIA that Saddam's government routinely violated the sanctions, earning an estimated $7.5 billion in cash mainly by smuggling oil outside the U.N. program.

    Saddam's government earned another $3 billion in kickbacks on oil and other schemes under the program, Reuters reported Duelfer's report as saying.

    The General Accountability Office, the investigative arm of Congress, reported similar estimates.

    A U.S. Senate committee said earlier this month that the amount of money Saddam earned by subverting the program may be more that twice the estimates by Duelfer and the GAO. (Full story)

    U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Danforth said Monday that the United States considers the allegations made about the oil-for-food program "very serious."

    "The investigation has to be very comprehensive," Danforth said. "We have to get to the bottom of this. It has to be done in a very professional fashion. It shouldn't be prejudged. Let the chips fall where they may."

    Danforth said he favors having Volcker's panel turn over information to U.S. congressional committees that are demanding sharing of all oil-for-food files.

    So far, Volcker has refused to do so, and Danforth said he saw no immediate resolution to the deadlock on that issue.

    Volcker's panel is due to issue an initial report in January and a full report by mid-year, Reuters reported.

    Republican Rep. Henry Hyde of Illinois, chairman of the House International Relations Committee, introduced a bill November 17 that demands heightened U.N. accountability.

    Reuters reported Hyde as saying that U.N. audits he had obtained "identified mismanagement and uneconomical' arrangements" by Cotecna.

    Asked if Kofi Annan should resign, Danforth was quoted by Reuters as saying, "I don't think that the United States government rushes to judgment until all the facts are in."

  15. US says final deal not likely on Rice Kenya visit 17 Feb 2008 14:52:35 GMT
    Source: Reuters
    (incorporates KENYA-CRISIS/BUSH, adds details)

    By Deborah Charles

    DAR ES SALAAM, Feb 17 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice does not expect her visit to Nairobi on Monday to forge a deal to end Kenya's political crisis, the White House said on Sunday.

    "Secretary Rice doesn't expect, I don't think, to come away with a final deal," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said. "But I do think ... they are inching their ways closer and they need a little bit of help to get there."

    President George W. Bush is sending Rice to Nairobi to help push along mediation led by former U.N. chief Kofi Annan.

    Bush, who is in Tanzania on the second day of a five-nation African tour, said earlier he did not want to dictate how to bring an end to Kenya's political violence but wanted to help Annan.

    Bush said he and Rice had discussed with Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete "how best we can help the process. Not what we should do to dictate the process but what America can do to help the process move along".

    The U.S. president has thrown his weight behind a power-sharing deal in Kenya to end a standoff over President Mwai Kibaki's disputed re-election which triggered a wave of ethnic killings.

    One thousand people have been killed and 300,000 left homeless in the crisis, one of the bloodiest chapters in Kenya's post-independence history.

    Annan has said considerable progress was made in talks this week, including agreement for an independent review of the polls. Experts say an agreement on power-sharing terms is the major sticking point.

    In an effort to shore up Annan's mediation, U.S. officials said the United States was ready to sanction any individuals who sought to obstruct Kenyan peace moves.

    Perino said Rice would not be bringing any incentives with her to Nairobi to encourage the two sides to reach a deal.

    She said in talks on Sunday Kikwete told Bush he appreciated that the United States was willing to support Annan's mediation efforts.

    "President Kikwete said there is sometimes a belief that Africans can't solve African problems and that somebody from the West has to come and try to solve it for them," Perino said. (Reporting by Deborah Charles; editing by Robert Woodward)

    So I guess - Kibaki will fly off to Uganda soon? right since the mass of the people won!! even with the army against them(army turned against the dictator)!!read on....

    The Uprising in Bucharest

    Let us consider the facts. The popular uprising was triggered in Bucharest by Nicolae CeauÅŸescu's discourse delivered in the Palatului Square on December 21, 1989. The idea of organizing a meeting attended by large masses of people seemed to come from the dictator's staff. CeauÅŸescu wanted to temper the masses as a consequence of the TimiÅŸoara uprising which started on December 16. He labeled the protesters as being traitors. The dictator's speech took no regard either for the discontent and the tragic situation in TimiÅŸoara, or for the state of mind of the Bucharest people in those days. Even a teenager might have found incredible his promises about better living conditions. Yet that was the time when great popular protest had to be quieted. Conflict between the army and the population developed at the crossroads and major squares of the capital. The citizens built barricades in defense against military repression. At the moment the state institutions in Bucharest – just like in TimiÅŸoara -- seemed uncertain about the need for such action and about how all that was to end, no matter how the protesters acted. CeauÅŸescu’s abrupt desertion of the communist headquarters and departure by helicopter on December 22nd, suggests that either part of the military and political leaders had remained loyal in spite of the situations of the moment, or his personal guard military elite group betrayed him. For the latter, a possible argument could be that the dictator himself mentioned -- during the TîrgoviÅŸte trial -- that he probably had been betrayed by some of the persons then acting as judges for he could recognize faces loyal to him up to December 22nd among the people in the room of his ad-hoc trial. No serious approach of such events can overlook this argument on the pretext that they belonged to the defeated and not the victor. What is striking us on the 22nd is not so much the massive protest as the jailing of the dictator by the communists. Both top military and reformed communists on the blacklist of the moment involved themselves in that jailing process which was to precede proper political changes.

In one of the posts this week it was said that there were suspicious army movements in Kisumuy. The army p[ersonnel were going to Busia to help with the burial of Melitus Were. He was an MP and thus the army are always called in to help out in logistical arrangments. Someone wrote here that there were movements that cannot be understood. How? 20. Since we are dicussing credibility let's talk about Kibakis boys shagging hookers in Dubai...saw it with my own eyes!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Kenya: A Long, Perilous Year Ahead

    I. Kibaki is a Prisioner to PNU Affiliates

    There may be no quick agreement between ODM’s Odinga and PNU’s Kibaki because, while the former has shown a willingness to move away from his earlier positions such as “Kibaki must resign,” Kibaki has become a prisioner of the constituent parties which have propped-up his government and for which power is the end and the means. This view is reinforced by what Kalonzo said when he landed from abroad (any deal must be constitutional), and Mr. Poghosio’s announcement that any deal brokered by HE Annan will not affect ODM-K’s power-sharing agreement with the minority PNU government.

    II. ODM must go for Executive Prime Minister

    The emerging deal is so far in favor of Kibaki– he is the President. ODM should not sacrifice further than it has done. Recognizing Kibaki’s Presidency has been a bitter enough pill for ODM to have swallowed. With this in mind, nothing less than an Executive Prime Minister for ODM (based on BOMAS and executed quickly by Parliamentary legislation) is agreeable. This would ensure that ODM, as the majority party, will be Head of the Government; it would also preserve ODM’s identity as a party for 2012, and multi-party democracy will have won. Mr. Kibaki can remain a ceremonial President in charge of the Defense and State affairs.

    III. Ideally, an interim Gov’t must be reasonably short

    While the a prolonged Interim Government (six-month one called by ODM has been shot down by negotiators at City Hall) would allow the country to heal and allow the internally displaced persons (IDPs) to resettle, it would prove to be a slow-killing pill that would in the long run neuter ODM, in particular, and multiparty democracy, in general, as the boundary between Opposition and Government becomes blurred in the eyes of the people.

    IV. ODM must think long-term

    As the Annan negotiations move towards its critical stage, ODM must think long-term because its image of a Movement ended with the 12/27/2007 elections. That is why it should prefer a constitutionally mandated (through parliamentary legislation) and quick Executive Prime Minister Deal to any other form of power-sharing arrangement. Otherwise, it is better to remain in the opposition than be in a long-term, coalition arrangement –a multiparty democracy killer.

    V. ODM should not bank on any elections being called before 2012

    Fact: As long as the internal refugees are still in the camps in Kibera, Kondele and the Rift Valley, and their plight shamelessly played to every tourist visiting Kenya, Kibaki will not call any election whatever the Annan Deal. The helpless IDPs have become mere pawns in what is emerging as a political sport among the protagonists in Nairobi. I am very pessimistic about Kenya’s future; I am looking at 2012 for the next electoral face-off.

  22. JR Alila, are you talking about the constitution? If so, then lets ua just pose and think who stopped Kibaki from enacting a new constitution that could have allowed for the prime minister. The new constitution had only a few issues that could have been cobbled in parliament. Regrest!!! Dont cry over spilt milk. Too late now. As things stand, Kibaki will be the president. The EXecutive Prime Minister yoyu are talking about is not in the current constitution and the ionly person who can enforce it right now is Mwai Kibaki, using his decree 'ABOVE THE LAW' to create it. Otherwise, nothing more can happen to make Raila Prime Minister as you wish. Another thing is that Kibaki can create the PM post and appoint Omingo Magara PM and Raila Odinga minister for water or even an assistant minister. IT does not mean that Raila must be the PM. PLease stop your imaginary vision.

    Politicians are using gang members as militias. One gang recruiter in Nairobi said she receives about 30 calls daily from people seeking membership, and politicians including a government minister are offering money for weapons to fuel the furor over the presidential election.At a camp for displaced families in Nairobi's Mathare slum, she led the crowd in a Kikuyu song before asking those whose homes were burned or looted whether they would consider joining the Mungiki gang.

  24. JR Alila, sorry for not commending your post. Well thought and the only place you did not have it right was the Executive PM. Otherwise as you say, all lies on Kibaki and I wonder what people are saying here that KIbaki will be forced to leave the country and they take over. It is not that easy and your statement really shows your knowledge of politics and the game played, with the powers that exist.

    JR, just to add to what you have said, concerning the elections, the chances of an election in the next 12 months is not there. With more than half a million people dispalced? It is not easy.

    You and me know this. before they agree on the next item, which must be done with parliament in session, the MPs will have fought too many wars and those who scraped through will oppose any move that will take them back to the polls.

    For an election and its logistics to be laid in place, it requires more than two years to prepare the rigister, mark the boundaries and even make some appoinment. It is not an easy matter as people think.

    Good post JR Alila

    JR Alila, are you talking about the constitution? If so, then lets ua just pose and think who stopped Kibaki from enacting a new constitution that could have allowed for the prime minister. The new constitution had only a few issues that could have been cobbled in parliament. Regrest!!! Dont cry over spilt milk. Too late now. As things stand, Kibaki will be the president. 29. Constitutions are not written in times of peace. They are made in times of war and crises. At the moment Kenya is in shreds, bandit president Kibaki has no Kenya over which he rules. People are unwilling and he is illegitimate and simply rejected. To save his face, he needs a fsoft way out. He must stop thinking about the minibandit karua, kimunya, michuki and think real hard about the harmless kikuyu who are being victimised for a regime that is not benefiting them. We need a devolution constitution that guarantees the rights of every Kenyan wherever they live. Just revisit what happened today in Kosovo, where the mainly Albanian Kosovoans declared independence but promised to respect the minority Serbs who are within their boundaries. This travesty of a stolen poll has provided Kenya with the single most important opportunity to redefine herself.

    We need a new constitution now.

    Excuse my ignorance of the constitution but I must ask, can someone quote the section of the constitution that puts the president 'ABOVE THE LAW'? Or is this just some 'lies' that has gone on for ages that we all believe is true? In fact, I am wondering if the constitution isn't contracting itself (if 'ABOVE THE LAW' is true). How can the same constitution require the president to derive his/her authority from the people and at the same time place the president above those who has just put him in authority? Isn't this a glaring contradiction?

  35. Reliable sources now say that the Rwandan military ruler Paul Kagame did indeed get directives from the West (read the US) on his statements to the effect that the Kenyan crisis necessitates that the Kenyan military disposes the illegitimate regime of Mwai Kibaki.

    The sources point out to the fact that Kagame waited almost a month after the declaration of Kibaki as the winner of the 2007 Kenyan elections to offer his insights on the crisis in Kenya. This wait was occasioned by the need for the West (US) to gather key intelligence as to the continued support of the illegitimate government of Kibaki and the ripple effect on other countries in East and Central Africa.

    It is instructive that Rwanda one of the coutnries that President Bush will visit has chilled diplomatic relations with Uganda the one country in the region that has come out in support of the Kibaki regime and is even providing military support to Kenya in many aspects including Kibaki's Presidential guard.

    What has been so far been frustrating to Rwanda and the US has been the lack of clear organization (or is it fear) from the Kenyan military in coming up with an elaborate plot to dispose Kibaki given that the two countries are ready to provide logistical support for the long overdue move.

    Another pointer to this plot has been Tanzania's President Kikwete's statement in his press briefing with President Bush in Dar er salaam today to the effect that African nations sometimes need the help of the West in solving domestics issues even though we are sovereign states.

  38. Ugandan security forces were in Kenya after the rigged election Last updated : 15 Jan 2008, Kampala
    We are able to confirm to you after checking the facts on the ground in Kisumu that Museveni and President Kibaki were in cahoots in the chaos that engulfed our neighbours after the rigged Kenyan election. We cannot yet tell when or from which source in Kenya the initiative originated, but somehow Museveni summoned General David Tinyefuza his intelligence supremo and gave him the task of planning the mission.

    Tinyefuza assembled some spies of the ESO and ISO and they moved in. Military Police were also involved and when they reached the border crossing at Busia, they removed their red toupees and donned the uniform of Kenya's GSU security force.

    The Kenya High Commission in Nakasero a suburb of Kampala, coordinated the part of giving diplomatic cover to the Ugandan hooligans. Tinyefuza set up a command and control centre at Tororo and there was also a post at Busia. The official cover was to monitor the security situation.

    We shall be giving you more details when our sources who also went into Kenya under secret cover to investigate Museveni's bloody hand in the Kenya election, have put together their reports.

    It was a real risk. One of our informers almost got caught but God was on his side and our last contact with him says he is okay. Lets give him some time to write a report of what he saw there.

    There are senior politicians in Kenya who have vowed to punish Museveni for what he did. We hope they will see the difference between ordinary Ugandans and the evil mafia government of M7

  39. Confirmed: President Mwai Kibaki visited Uganda
    Last updated : 15 Jan 2008, Kampala
    We havce our cross checking and can now confirm to its readers that President Mwai Kibaki the Kenyan head of state (a title in hot dispute) paid a surprise visit to Uganda last Thursday.

    Rumours have been in Kampala that Kibaki visited his fellow dictator Yoweri Museveni but we could not confirm them at first. Now we have seen concrete evidence that Kibaki was in Uganda.

    Many Ugandans are worried by why Kibaki chose to come to Uganda at a time when Kenya is in big problems. They are worried that Kibaki might have got to Uganda to consult a man who besides other titles like elections stealer, and serial breaker of Agreements between conflicting parties, is most well known as veteran of genocide against civilians.

    Recently we saw pictures of youths in Kenya carrying machetes (pangas) and it brought back memories of the pangas used in the Rwandan Genocide. We earlier wrote about a truck full of new pangas that was taken from Uganda to Rwanda just before the terrible genocide there.

    We have not got any news about what they discussed but when the most powerful and corrupt men get together to strike deals, the people of East Africa should get worried.

    Foul play is being suspected between Museveni and Kibaki

  40. More behind the scenes on M7 role in Kenya chaos
    Last updated : 29 Jan 2008, Kampala

    This week, you may have noticed that President Museveni was at his usual games of hoodwinking the international community in general, and East Africans especially Ugandans in particular, that he still has "solutions" to the worlds problems.

    As always he wanted to reap success and recognition as a peace maker when he learnt that former UN chief Kofi Anan was also visiting Kenya and had a fair chance to succeed in the mission to knock sense into some peoples heads.

    As is the norm, a thief is always on the lookout and suspicious of even his own shadow. The "son of Amos Kaguta" (by the way the old man Amos is sick and keeps mentioning that as a herdsman, he was free to roam and talk to different people in Kinoni township. But now he is being held hostage and forced to stay in State House where he is not allowed to talk to any one apart from the immediate guards and not even to his "grand kids". Those who are aware of this old man's misery find his virtual house arrest strange and sympathize but what can you do when the president is the prison chief?). Let us return to our story, the ever nervous thief rushed to Dar es Salaam to borrow the presidential Jet of Tanzania with the excuse that he could not travel by "his jet" because Kenya was not safe and someone could target him there!

    We shall return to the visit later.

    During and after the election around the 29th to 30th December 2007, our sources who monitor the airwaves (you know how everything which goes in the air is free for whoever wants to pick up even if it is 'presidential' material), say Raila tried a number of times to talk directly with Yoweri Museveni requesting him to prevail on Kibaki to accept and concede defeat for the sake of the region and Kenya.

    Raila managed to get the elusive revolutionary around the 29th or 30th December and pleaded with him to offer support to him and the Kenyan people since he had rightly won the elections.

    According to our sources here is what Museveni said and I quote;

    "Raila (cynical laugh), this is Africa, elections are not won through the people and what makes you think Kenya is any different from the rest of Africa?"
    "How do you expect me to support you when you are associated with UPC? Politics is about interests and to be fair with you, let me deal with my fellow Mzee. I cannot afford to fight five young leaders ( he meant Tanzanian, Congo, Burundi, Rwandese and now Kenya), please leave me alone! Really.

    "Well wish you luck, but what you Luos did in Uganda for the last 20 years, Kenyans would be foolish to accept you"

    He hung up the phone without saying good bye and immediately called Kibaki, offering advice that he should find a way to be quickly sworn in as president to gain the upper hand in any negotiations, and that should the matter go to court, he can always bribe the judges.

    Ugandans should note that, had the elections gone according to the law (and will of the people), the swearing in ceremonies were scheduled to take place on the 30th of December 2007.

    Most of the neighbouring states (Tanzania, Southern Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, and Ethiopia) were busy sending advance security teams to Nairobi and booking hotels for their Presidents and other dignitaries.

    But in Kampala, the Presidential Guard Brigade (PGB) which is in charge of presidential security arrangements were asking Museveni and Amelia his private secretary (PPS) on what arrangements should be made but both did not care to give any response. Time was running out and people in the advance security team were getting desperate but despite many reminders and requests for guidance on this critical issue, all efforts came to nothing. These two key people were just not bothered. Well, we all now know what they already knew at that time.

    This episode was most surprising on two accounts. One is that Museveni is the most security conscious (read coward if you like) person you have ever seen. That is why these days he moves with a whole army brigade in his own country. How come he was not moving even a finger to give his security arrangements the go ahead if he was planning to visit a foreign country? Secondly, he spent a lot of time during those election days on the phone making calls to persons in Kenya. This was especially true on and throughout the night of 30th December 2007. Yet he was not showing any concern that he was due to travel for the swearing in ceremonies.

    The advance teams in Nairobi were stranded, not receiving any information from their boss, the PGB commander. Instead orders were coming from the dreaded Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) and General David Tinyefuza, prompting the PGB commanders to ask the presidents secretary Amelia, what the hell was going on?!

    On another note, we can now reveal to you that people in and close to State House like like Fox Odoi, Moses Byuruhanga, David Tinyefuza, Amama Mbabazi, Nyombi Thembo, have earned "consultancy" fees from the Kibaki presidential campaign as senior advisers on this rigged election. Given the way the whole affair went, you can judge what kind of advise they gave.

    Meanwhile, it is true over 5,000 UPDF soldiers have been stationed on both sides of the Kenya and Uganda boarder with Museveni advising Kibaki that he is doing it because "Acholi" and or LRA my cross over to help Raila, or the other way round, that Raila may send his people to LRA to set up rear bases in Uganda. (For our foreign readers who may not understand the significance, the people of northern Uganda, Acholi included, are of the same ethnic group as the Luo in Kenya, where Raila Odinga comes from. Museveni, as his deeds bear out, is a hard core racist and it seems he can only see and understand something after he puts on the sectarian spectacles of tribe and race)

    Kenyans, the earlier you realise you are dealing with a fully grown wolf in a sheep's skin (which is no longer fitting) the better for both Kenya and Uganda.

    Museveni will do whatever is possible to deny Raila his true place because he has calculated very well that with Raila as president, his own days will be further reduced and his desire to be president of the united East Africa will be derailed. On the other hand, Kibaki will be too glad to support this megalomaniac pursuit, in return for the support he is getting from Museveni at this time.

    Raila is a good match for Museveni and the people of both Kenya AND Uganda will benefit if he puts his foot down.

    God Bless our Kenyan brothers and sisters. Now you can see what is in store for all of us should - GOD FORBID, Yoweri Museveni ever become the East African President.

    our report on Museveni s role in the rigging of the Kenya elections.

    Those of us who know a man called Yoweri Museveni are worried for Kenyans. This is a man who specialised in planting bombs, landmines, killing prominent Ugandans so that he creates chaos and fear in Uganda. When there is anarchy, then people will be willing to give up anything for a return to order. That is just human nature, which cynical people can manipulate to their advantage.

    We have no direct evidence that he is, but don't be surprised if Museveni has been advising Kibaki on creating or allowing maximum chaos and tensions so that Kibaki can declare a state of emergency like in the days of Mau Mau before independence.

    We are raising this suspicion because it is hard to believe that the Kenya security forces, both army and police are claiming to be overwhelmed by the rioting groups. And then when the police chiefs say on the news the situation in an area is "under control", you hear later that it is not the case, fighting and roads are still blocked. Kenyans should not be surprised if a state of emergency is imposed, after which Raila Odinga and his top ODM officials are arrested and detained.

    We hope for the best but it is better to assume the worst that Kibaki might have been getting guarantees of military and intelligence support from Museveni if things come to that.

In fact, however much we haggle, truth remains that majority of us voted for ODM and we won. You must all be thick in the head to imagine that taking Kenyans on academic exercises might just work your way.
    Truth is, no amount of tokenism, propaganda and intimidation worked, and our within our DOMO DOMO, lies our spirit, our fire. Kenyans on the ground are waiting with bated breaths for the outcome of the talks. That doesn’t mean that peace has returned, and neither shall it until we get what is rightfully ours. Watching your sick MPs waxing Lyrical about how Kibaki shouldn’t be forced to share power, one wonders, are these people for real? If today Kenya burns trust me, it is you Gema who will be the biggest losers and you know why. What do close to ten million poor voters living in obscurity have to lose? When Raila declared Kibaki Tosha, the poor voted as a bloc in great expectations.
    Now, here’s the deal: No amount of your empty words will change the way Kenyans feel about you, and the only option left for Kibaki other than power sharing is to go the IDI AMIN Way, of which…didn’t end too good for him either. Police have shot at us and killed some of us, but bullets and batons will not drown the voice of the people.
    37 Mungiki arrested today taking oaths: So predictable. By the way, mungiki will rein terror in the towns, and kikuyu, but they need to know that….. Kalenjins and Luos are waiting for them anxiously. We are tired of being threatened by some cheaply trained militia. Kenya ni kubwa.

Kibaki can hide but he can't run- tuko na yeye moja kwa Moja we will peel all the layers bit by bit- They went to petition and said er none Kikuyu's were herder-fishermen and cottage farmers and implied we were not hard working and only they were the most hard working in KENYA and drive the economy!! well we will show them who has the brains-

    I wonder if I listed all the kikuyu's abroad - and the jobs they hold compared to other tribes and jobs they hold?? what d you think I will come up with?? no surprise there?? they abused us- lets see there brain power and if Martha Kurua is the best brain they have then it is game over!!!

    KENYANS" PETITION BRITISH PM TO RECOGNIZE KIBAKI
    « Thread Started on Feb 11, 2008, 6:03pm »

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    THIS IS A PART OF THE PETITION PRESENTED TO UK

    PRIME MINISTER HON. GORDON BROWN BY KENYANS

    ON FRIDAY 8TH FEBRUARY, 2008

    COVERING NOTE

    · We, the undersigned, petition the British Government to support the rule of law in Kenya, upholding the principle of democracy by recognising the current incumbent Government of Kenya as the legitimate Government of the country, until such time as the High Court of Kenya makes an order after a successful petition against Kibaki’s election

    KENYAN HISTORY

    Luhya’s occupy Western Province and are mainly farmers and office workers.

    Kalenjin’s & Maasai’s occupy Rift Valley and are good at keeping cows, goats and sports.

    Kikuyu’s dominated the business world; commerce/trade and usually work hard and as a team.

    Luo’s occupy the Lake Region. Their main activities are fishing and office working.

    Naturally Kikuyu’s are wealthy by all standards because of working hard. When Kenya got independence from the British, many Kikuyu’s bought land from the British and settled in Rift Valley and elsewhere.

Think of it that Nyanza has only one factory...Kisumu Mollases plant, Eldoret has KCC and Rivatex, and Luhyaland has Mumias Sugar and Nzoia Sugar factories only....Further on, the leading exchange earners are not in Nyanza ow Western Kenya. 56. Indicators of a collapsed State

    KENYA IS A COLLAPSED STATE

    1. Reliance on private security for safety and security, without which one feels threatened;

    2. Privatized food security, basic education, health and livelihoods, mainly through reliance on charity. The general population psyche is that the government has a minimal role, and is cynical of their basic priorities;

    3. Systemic conflict, with no clarity on how it will be addressed, and the population accepting it as a norm;

    4. Adulterated justice system which often appears "bought/hijacked" , hence trust in them is minimal;

    5. Community level governance abused, hijacked, marginalized, or openly threatened;

    6. In national institutions, checks and balances tempered with for example in: procurements, payments for goods and services, recruitments, promotions and deployments, and the targeting of support in survival safety nets (e.g. bursaries, health, justice for the poor among others);

    7. Misuse and misallocation/ misapplication of national resources: Purchases of luxury goods at the expense of basic essentials (Cars, trucks, natural resources, other immovable assets);

    8. Systematic and personalized threats meant to cow a person(s) perceived to be a threat from exercising their rights (it takes many forms);

    9. Collapsed infrastructure and utilities, that do not get preventive maintenance, and when done, the very maintenance acts become revenue generation to individuals involved; hence the state of disrepair is desirable;

    10. Competing parallel structures and systems, often between privatized services (owned by politically correct persons) and those that are official, and which are neglected or undermined;

    11. Integrity of national institutions tempered with: Citizenship, taxation procedures application, allocation and targeting of support to populations in need;

    12. Limited or no support to interventions on equity, promotion of livelihoods and growth;

    13. Dramatic privatization of national assets, creating instantaneous millionaires, who then further acquire capacity to undermine the State;

    14. Frequent high mortalities from preventable causes: accidents, natural calamities, and systemic violence, often instigated or catalyzed by those who should be protectors of the people;

    15. Destruction of the natural environment, often with immediate negative consequences: river catchments, drainage systems, approval of constructions that undermine the environment, and misuse of water;

    16. Mushrooming of unplanned structures, for which the Town and Country Planning departments have no powers over. These then quickly lead to domino effects on every other facet of life of the population.

    Do we have any semblance of government in Kenya? What is the definition of a state? Nation? What makes for the sovereignty of the state? Conventionally, you cannot rule over an unwilling population. Bandit president Kibaki is imposing his illegitimate will on an unwilling country.

    It must be changed if Kenya is ever to go anywhere economically and politically.

    Well multi-partism was against the constitution until section 2A was repealed.

    CONSTITUTIONS CAN BE CHANGED and Kenya's must be changed.

    THIS IS THE KIND OF EGOTISM WE ARE TRYING TO SHRED. AND IF IT WILL TAKE THE LAST KALENJIN OR LUO TO BRING ABOUT EQUITY WITHIN KENYA, SO BE IT.. I COULD BE CURSED, BUT I’M BETTER OFF THAN HE WHO SELLS HIS OWN SOUL CHEAPLY. THIEVES, NOBODY STANDS YOUR HAUGHTINESS ANYMORE. WAIT AND SEE. 61. Some Background on Kibaki's soulmate!!!

    When President Jomo Kenyatta rejected Museveni in 1976

    Last updated : Feb 4 2008, Kampala

    Here is a short story that makes me laugh every day we meet Museveni as told to us by Amama Mbabazi during our visits to Nairobi during our bush days, when we would sneak into Kenya for some supplies or medical attention.

    He repeated this joke a few times each time he had taken a glass too many of his whisky.

    Have Ugandans ever asked themselves why our Visionary Dear Leader never talks about the late Jomo Kenyatta first President of Kenya or his son Uhuru, yet he spends lots of time telling whoever has time to hear how close he was to Julius Nyerere?

    Well, here is the story as narrated to us by his long time servant who happened to be in a meeting in early 1976 with his master, Mzee Kenyatta (RIP), Charles Njonjo, a few Kenyan top security officials, one Bruce Mckenzie and the late John Wycliffe Kazzora.

    Kazzora happened to have been the one who organized this meeting using his good connections with his long time friend Charles Njonjo to introduce to the Kenyan leaders a great "revolutionary and freedom fighter" fighting Amin who should be facilitated

    The meeting is all set on a Sunday after mid day when Mzee Kenyatta returns from church. Mzee Kenyatta was resting in Nakuru State House those days.

    In walks John Kazzora in tow with a young shabbily dressed thin man and Amama Mbabazi who has always been smartly dressed.

    Kenyatta and his officials at first mistook Amama Mbabazi as Museveni since he looked more composed and well dressed and as Kenyatta later confessed more Ugandans.

    Well the Kenyans were not impressed more so for wasting Mzee's time on a Sunday when he should be resting.

    The first question Kenyatta asked our young revolutionary Museveni was which part of Uganda he came from since he looked more like a person from Rwanda. Our young leader started murmuring under his breath. (Was this question calculated one, based on other information? M7 looks just like any Ugandan. -Ed)

    Second question was asked by Charles Njonjo why Museveni was fighting Amin and what he represented. The visionary leader failed to see this as a trap and started murmuring his Marxist ideology which never went well with the Kenyans and John Kazzora who were more inclined to the western world.

    Well to cut the story short, Kenyatta was not impressed and in his deep voice (you should see Amama imitating Kenyatta), told Museveni the best he could do for him was to send him for "mental treatment" in Mathari Mental Hospital since he did not appear to be aware of what he was talking about.

    The cheeky Bruce McKenzie chipped in by saying since he was based in Tanzania, Muhimbili Hospital would be the solution since Kenya did not have money to waste on Marxist-oriented ideas and thought Amin was a better and honest person to deal with as opposed to Museveni who looked more of a gun man and lacked proper grooming.

    In fact, Kenyatta later warned Njonjo never to bring "thugs" in his house ever again.

    Charles Njonjo was overheard asking Kazzora after the meeting where exactly Museveni came from. Kazzora also "mummured" according to Amama!

    In senior security circles, it is highly thought by some close associates of Museveni that he may have had a hand in the assassination of Bruce Mckenzie as a revenge for his comments by feeding Amin's intelligence with false stories about Mckenzie which sometime he perfected during Amin's days and continued to use against his friends and prominent people during the days of UNLA.

    Some of Mckenzie's boys got to know and planned to hit back if ever Museveni set foot in Kenya. A chance came when one of his boys called Robert Shaw cornered Museveni in a Nairobi restaurant but by the grace of God, Museveni escaped never to set foot in Nairobi again.

    Museveni never forgave Kenyatta for that humiliation. So young Uhuru, you now know why Museveni has always been cold towards your gestures.
    People like Major General Kahinda Otafire, Jim Muhwezi, the late Akanga Byaruhanga, Henry Tumukunde, David Tinyefuza have all heard this story before since it is not new.

  62. sorry Anon 1:52 pm - the cheating and robbing is not a matter of tribe but a matter of the person behind this. I could agree with your judgement about Dalmas Otieno and even the Odingas - but then you should also talk about Cyrus Jirongo and others - and don't forget Saitoti and all others - if you want, I give you a list of more than 2 dozend other names.
    Looting the country was not and still is a matter of tribe, it's a matter of how less one cares about cheating and robbing. And here there is no divide between tribal lines. It only looks like that on the surface because the Kikuyus were 'in charge' first - and then came the Kalenjins - and to be honest (and I talk from own experience) they learned very fast. That's why Moi, Biwott and others are still in charge of many of the most profitable businesses.
    Nobody talks about this right now since everybody is now concentrating on Kibaki and bis 'buddies'. But don't make the mistake to underestimate the Moi-Clique. They are very clever to stay in the background right now. But wait and see how soon they will come out of hiding.
    I think, Kenya will have to face its real 'fate' when and if you will realize what his really going o9n.
    I am sorry to tell you, that you still have no idea yet.

  64. For the record_ The Sam Okello who is supported by ODM for the mayoral race in Kisumu is not the the Sam Okello who cheated MB when writing the book The Shining Star although he may try to cheatyou that he is the same person. But fact is that Sam Okello of ODM is a known and serious busines man - whereas the other Sam Okello is living in the States since more than 15 years - trying to make his living on publishing books and preaching in some American Sect Churches.
    But beware of the fact that also he wants to enter Kenyan politics using or better misusing the name of his more honest counterpart. I pray that he does not succeed since then Kenya will really end up in serious troubles.
    All under his favourite slogan 'God save Kenya' or better: 'I am your saviour - I am Sam Okello'.

And this song about international community (aka muzungu) solving all your problems, when did it become ODM's national anthem? And ODM's new found patron saint, George Bush, when did he get religion about sharing political power? Why didn't he share power in 2000 when there was an electral dispute between him and Albert Gore instead of going to the US Supreme Court? Stop taking every Muzungu's huluccination as an idea from God. Remember to be industrious and look for Kenyan solutions. Tell fellow ODMers that it is not a sin to work hard. 72. Dear ODMers,

    Don't listen to the Taabu types and fail to turn up for work thinking that this is the week of the pesa nane prophesy of Armageddon. It isn't; neither is it the International Community Salvation Week. Of course, it is nice to have Condi in town, after all who doesn't like a visit from a lady of her stature even if for a day. But don't forget once she is gone you will still have to look for and fix your own ugali and sukuma wiki. The same applies to Anan's talks. When he is done and gone, you will have still to board a City Hoppa or buy your own car. Don't expect Raila to let you hop into his Hummer with or without a new constitution. So the earlier you embrace the culture of jitegemee na kazi the better.

    If there is really an armageddon coming, it is the reality of re-building the schools and towns you burnt in ODM strongholds. Yes, you can choose to wait for the international community to come and do it for you, but there is a limit to this delusion. Whatever the choice you make, remember that a man who relies on the generosity of foreigners and strangers to build or maintain his homestead dies like a homeless dog - homeless and hungry!!!!

As Museveni is fighting to be the leader of EAC Kikwete is currently the chairman of the AU.....I am just wondering if EAC can hold elections Si Museveni /Kibaki can rig big time....Wacha wapiganie hiyo...Kweli kizuri chajiuza ..kibaya chajitembeza...By the way by just being a lady ithink Kibaki should borrow some tips from Jakaya, he is well groomed and dresses sharply...Especially the one he was putting on yesterday...Nice suit indeed he looked sharp

  76. Ivy go to Tanzania if you like how Kikwete dresses. Kikwete's country is run by the west. Talk of their budget being 65% funded by their colonial masters. Now compare that to Kenya's 6% and what do you get? (dependency syndrome) The guy just signed 53 billion shillings in aid. Try to imagine how many years it will take for the country to pay back the loan. Remember the US and her allies do not have friends, they have interests. Take that to the bank and decolonize your mind.

  77. One way or another this problem will have to sorted out.
    Wetangula, Beth Mugo na Pumabvu wengine can shout untli their voices are hoarse but the bottom line is we will resolve this issue.
    If they wear out Annan there are too many others including millions of Kenyans who they will have to contend with.....

    ReplyDelete
  78. Anon 3.27, point is coloniners are colonizers whether white or black.
    Kenyans are currently dealing with black Supremists who are as bad as the white colonial masters if not worse.
    The modern day colonizers are what is making millions of Kenyans sick to their stomachs....

  79. Anon 3:27 Nope i dont have to go to TZ, Man relax i was just complimenting, Can't a young woman complement any more...We wacha.......Trust me i appreciate men who carry themselves with dignity, and apparently Kibs is not one of them...That one nuh filth comes from his mouth...He should censor some of his speech

  80. Ivy,
    I support your view. Do not worry about anon 3:27, typical PNU stuff, going of on a rant and hitting out at anything.
    I am a guy and Kikwete is sharp. Our former president and current imposter on the other hand really fell off the ugly tree, he has no style neither does he have dignity.

  81. Fave of bg

    Ok Kikwete is SHARP. Happy. So tell me how much of TZ's budget is financed by the west? How will dependency syndrome help Africa? for 50 decades we have not moved as a continent, what makes you think more aid will rescue Africa?

    ReplyDelete
  82. anon@5.03
    Neither will corruption, ethnocentric jingoism, cronysim and electoral fraud rescue Africa.
    TZ might depend on aid. But they do not have a thousand people dead, most of them killed by police (paid by tax payers) and gangs sponsored by the government. They do not have a biased tribal based relief effort even after the fact.
    Plus do your math '...50 decades we have not moved as a continent,...' That is 500 years you know? I hope you meant to say 5 decades.. huh?
    While we are strolling in the Kazi iendelee trash park lets pick some smelly flowers out our much vaunted economic miracle
    1. We are still in the lowest 15 nation in HDI
    2. We are still ranked in the bottom 10 in risky business environment (Mungiki are really helpful on this factoid)
    3. Our per capita income is still low.
    4. More people are living under poverty (at end of 2007 even before the electoral theft) than is 2002.
    5. Corruption and tribal appointments have not changed.

    May be you are not poor like the rest of us but, for a moment take a look at the rise in the prices of all basic commodities, even if Oil prices increases are factored in, they prices have gone up many more times than can be explained by oil alone. We are talking about bread, sugar, maize meal. Basic stuff for the people.
    A huge percentage of our budget comes from Kenya but it is by robbing the poor and taxing basic commodities, and then, it ends up in Anglo leasing and other nefarious schemes
    So we have an ugly criminal president. I would rather we have poor foreign-aid depending (TZ) legitimate president. In case you forget remember how the thug was sworn in at twilight? what did he have to hide?

  83. Dependency sysndrome.....When did you realize that, Now please stop behaving like a jilted lover ukikataliwa unaleta hasira ati by the way we are a sovereign state, i thought we were since 1963, when akina Muites/Martha Karua were cheering on Smith Hempstone in the 90's, were we not a sovereign state then. Wacheni na bado mutahandwa kwani it was bad with Moi and when it comes to Kibaki it is good, Kenya is for everyone the "hardworking kikuyu and the fisherman luo, the farmer mluhya and the kale shepherd. Wacheni vitisho have you ever heard Karua going to the IDP camp....Stop your selective amnesia, How come when the foreigners are feeding the IDPs you are not telling them you are a sovereign state. Now if they interfere with the politics you are saying it is a domestic problem...Stop insulting the intelligence of kenyans kwani IDPs is the foreigners problem, if you have nothing to say shut and spit to the wind it mught listen to you!!!!
    Why not recall all the junior officers who are still stationed in these countries. Mwache upuzi...Na bado

  84. Face it.....We are a begging state and not a sovereign state....If we were why would Kaloozer waste our money going to the UK and the US ...ati image building whose approval was he seeking, and yet we are a sovereign state.....Dont forget the TZ you are rubbishing is where Uhuru and Wetangula went and camped trying to convince Kikwete for a congratulatory message which has not yet come forth.....Trust me Kibaki is feeling lonely you can put on a brave face from the outside but inside that man is lonely and really needs company.....

    ReplyDelete
  85. anon @3.27, It was a grant and not aid. There is a big difference between the two. By the way, I would rather live in a "dependency syndrome" country as you call it, than that much flaunted "6%" Kenya at the moment. At least there is light at the end of TZ's tunnel, you would not say the same for 6% Kenya at the moment.

  86. Anon at 5:28, are you saying that Mungiki killed and evicted people from Burnt Forest, Eldoret, Cherangany, Kuresoi, Molo, Njoro? Are they the same ones who burnt kids in a church in kiambaa village. Talk of selective amnesia. You must be a very poor person to spend so much time in the Internet while you can't afford milk and other basic commodities. Please don't flirt with poverty. Thank God if you can afford time on the internet. As for corruption, I abhor the vice. (50 decades, sorry that was a typo. thank you for the correction though)

    As for Ivy please breakdown your meaning of sovereign state and begging state. and by the way, I do not converse with Kibaki to know whether he is lonely. I guess that is besides the point.

  87. YES YES MUNGIKI DID ALL THAT IT WAS PLANNED AHEAD OF THE ELECTIONS!!DON'T YOU RECALL CARS BEING CAUGHT WITH PANGA'S EN-ROUTE TO ALL THOSE AREA''S AND UGANDA PEOPLE(WHICH MESEVENI HAS DENIED) but now proof is in the pot- KIBAKI NEW HE WILL LOOSE- SO HOW ELSE DOES HE RALLY HE'S SHEEP BEHIND HIM? Kill his own people in opposition Strong hold and blame it on the OPPOSITION- and what happens??? he gets his followers behind him 100%
    The only problem!! news lick out of this masterminded plan(the proof in the pot) and that is why Ruto is Proud to say he had northing to do with the church burning in Eldoret!!
    Remember IDI AMIN did the same to his own people -Some sick leaders in Africa have been none to use this same sick trick to master blind followers to stay in power!! I pity PNU- why do you think ODM was confident enough to take KIBAKI to Hague- for crimes of Humanity
    People come forward even to Maina Kiai and reported facts od what happened between the week before Kibaki was declared the illegal President of Kenya!!
    I PITY THE KIKUYU'S WHO HAVE NOT SEEN THROUGH THIS SHAM OF KIBAKI AND HIS CRONIES-

  88. anon@9:07 am.
    I wonder why you bother replying to an obviously fallacious answer that anon 8:00 am replied to my earlier post. I said Police and Mungiki were responsible for most of the deaths not all. If they (anon 8:00 am)had bothered read my reply they would have known what I was saying.
    It might be morbid but let him take newspapers and do the unfortunate tallying of deaths and he will realize what I am talking about. That is why I never bothered to answer him because he misread my comment and did not address some of the issues I raised. Any interaction with such a person will result them insulting and going off to crazy tangents instead of addressing the issues at hand. The PNU pattern of addressing issues is well known that is why I just ignored the reply.
    But still anon@9:07 am thanks for the reply. You provide him with some more info he can use. Plus if he gets the daily nation of Dec 27 2007 he can read what you alledge

    Finally to anon 8:00 am, the fact that i can use the internet does not mean I am wealthy or even rich. May be and just maybe, I work for a nice person who allows me to use their serviced

  93. Some points to ponder:

    • Do you know Kibaki reduced our foreign debt to almost nil?

    • The take off stage for an economy is always the most painful, especially for the poor. But (surprise, surprise) the developed nations went through the same phase during the industrial revolution. But what do we do? Complain, complain, complain and believe the promises One Delirious Man - that can only take us back to point one (foreign debt).

    • Some will say "I would rather be a foreigners puppet (like TZ) and receive "aid" than be independent and poor.
    - Shucks! If China, Malaysia and Indonesia adhered to such dimwitted logic, they wouldn't be 2nd world countries, innit?

    • For those of you who do not believe in 6% picture this:
    - 70% of Kenya's rural population depend on agriculture;
    - prices of Agr. related goods have been on the up and up since 2002;
    - now more than ever Agriculture in the ASAL's (Arid and Semi Arid Lands) has been revived - so much so that word on the "Kikuyu Diaspora" grapevine is that Isiolo is the next big thing in resettlement (land rates there are already on the up and up)!

    • Thanks to the pentagoofs and their calls for mass ass, sorry, Action, the Mt. Kenya region will rake in a fortune (taking note that there is a famine alert).
    - What about Kenya's breadbasket, the Rift Valley?
    - Please note, the same scenario repeated itself in 92 and 97 - kick the "madoadoa" out. Acquire their land by force. BUT GUESS WHAT, the country goes hungry. So for all their "Koitalel Arap Samoei revival" crap, Rift Valley natives must be major dolts when it comes to agriculture, innit?

    Bottom line:
    Granted, the government has its flaws and skeletons.
    Their biggest mistake is that they aren't good at PR, unlike the RAO and his Pentagoofs.
