Media Fails Kenyans Once Again As Man Is Shot Dead In Front Of TV Cameras

The footage shown on KTN TV last night was a heart-stopper. A young man wearing a black top appeared to be making faces or taunting a policeman who was off camera. Suddenly the lone policeman appeared on camera and aimed his gun at the unarmed protestor (he did not even have a stone in his hands).

The lone policeman fired again and as he advanced towards the two youths now prostrate on the ground, the young man with the black top gets up and takes a few steps before he falls again. He later died. His colleague is in a Kisumu hospital fighting for his life.

One would have expected that this would be the front page story on all the newspapers. This footage was confirmation that police in Kenya are deliberately shooting to kill (they have been ordered to do so. I will tell you in a minute why). It would be confirmation of what we have been saying in this blog since all this madness began. A vast majority of the people who have died so far have been felled by police bullets. It seems that the strategy was to scare the public into submission. But here Mwai Kibaki made another terrible miscalculation. He does not realize that the point of suffering that many Kenyans have reached is worse than death itself and therefore in many ways, death is kinder than life itself. A terrible thing to say, but the truth.

Many Kenyans in comfortable jobs who are reading this are more than a little puzzled as to why Kibera people knowing full well that the police have been shooting to kill, would still come out and taunt the police. To them it defies logic. Some will say it is the “usual Luo mentality.”

Many of these Kenyans are also not aware of the common practice in the Kibera slums (amongst all tribes and not just Luos) for some years now of stepping in front of a moving vehicle deliberately. The idea is to get knocked down so that you can demand for some cash from the car driver to put something in your stomach. If the impact is too much and the person dies, alas, at least they were trying to do something to get a meal. Death is kinder than life in the hell hole that is a slum.

This is the really dangerous thing about the Kenyan situation that Kibaki and Michuki will not understand in 100 years. It is exactly what can tip the scales and cause a full blown civil war to break out in this country.

Media houses in Kenya have numerous journalists on the ground who have been witnessing many of the atrocities on the ground, not a word of the true situation on the ground concerning the killings has been printed or said on air.

Why?

Part of the answer is in my next post.

KTN and The Standard are increasingly shining as the only media houses that dare to report as close to the truth as they can. Kudos, your place in history is already guaranteed.

  1. I remember Kibaki and Kalonzo praising KTN in 2002 after a campaign blitz in Western led by Raila and Kalonzo for Kibaki. KTN maintained the same spirit. The Nation has become part of Kikuyustan and they are trying to blind the nation with calls for peace "but without justice." What a greed!

  2. Kibaki will pay the price and all his pussyfooters will pay too. Make no mistake about it. Everything has its appointed term. Today the European Union Parliament will suspend aid to this ugly fossil called Kibaki and later they will impose a ban on this hippo. And later, we will take him to Kamiti to die there. He is ugly both physically and morally.

  5. These ODMers have perfected the art of barking the loudest and getting nothing done. It is interesting to see how people all of a sudden get hit with a dab of amnesia and forget that a month ago Kenya was one of the most stable and economically productive countries within the sphere....who do we accredit that to??? For sure not the hooligans like Orengo and the rest of his band member

Parliament yesterday was pathetic...it looked like something out of a tasteless reality show starring Orengo .

Now after they have yapped and yapped week calling for peaceful demonstrations . They stated last week after police threatened to ban the demonstrations and I quote "let them arrest us, it is not the first time they have done so" then come the big day they are all AWOL. IN ALL HONESTY WHO LOOKS LIKE THE FOOL HERE???

I am positive that Mr. Annan backed out for the only reason he was not ready to join the circus as all he was coming to do in negotiate with a bunch of ridiculous clowns.

KTN and Standard are the face of teh current genocide. When cahrges are being preffered and history is being written, the media house will not also run from justice. Its bad to be anti established, but it requires some intelligence to do so. Fairness should be seem to be there. Time is the best judge. I work in the media too.

  14. Open letter to the president/police commissioner to stop violence by police Edit PDF Print E-mail
    Dear Hon Kibaki,

I write this letter to you as a one of the pained and depressed Kenyans in the diaspora. Certainly I speak for the hundreds of thousands out there, who for one reason or another, for the first time in such a long time after the departure of your predecessor find it such a difficult reality to walk tall as a Kenyan. Your Excellency, those of us in the academia have always been reminded that you are our living, indeed immortal, role model in our pursuit of academic excellence. I must congratulate you for your brilliance in Economics and other disciplines which are less urgent now for the Kenyan people than the absolute respect and protection of, first life and secondly property.

As a man who did not bear the brutal brunt of police brutality which met those who were agitating for the restoration of multiparty democracy, but as a beneficiary of that costly order anyway, it is incumbent upon you, your Excellency to strive to uphold the human dignity of Kenyans and more so prevail upon your police force to exercise utmost restraint in controlling the people while they take part in their democratic and constitutional mass demonstrations. I do not need to remind your excellency that a dead citizen has no vote, but the parents who turn out to bury their loved ones ask the question: How many more souls need to be lost in Kenya to arouse your feelings? Are you really this dry and cold-blooded, your Excellency? Are you? Many countless Kenyans died in the struggle for independence under the murderous colonial army, some were buried in unmarked graves. Many more died in the run-up to the repeal of Section 2A of the constitution which was enacted by parliament in a record 15 minutes following your successful moving of the motion. Saba Saba represents the day that Kenyans wished to relate to police repression of the past. That past which we thought we were over and done with.

BUT your Excellency, NO KENYAN wanted to imagine that in MWAI KIBAKI's Kenya, a harmless citizen would ever die again. Not even the most psychotic optimist would imagine that your government would preside over any police-sponsored genocide and mass murder of innocent demonstrators. Even where these were caught red-handed, or in the act of committing a felony, the courts are there to try them. At least that is why we have prisons. Yet they are dying in hundreds, many more are wounded while families and friends are scarred. Yes, it has happened in 2008. Why is it necessary, I wonder. Do you really have such a veritable fear of the citizen? Why would you, when the whole world says you lost an election through the same power of the citizen. If you really feared citizen power, the first of that fear should have been expressed in your honouring your word to step down after you lost the election. At 76 years of age, you have seen, heard and had enough. You need peace of mind and soul.

I write this letter to you, a father and a grandfather. Let mothers and fathers live as peacefully as you and your family live, however poor they are. Allow our parents to age and die peacefully in old age. Mr President, in times of war the old bury the youth whereas in times of peace, such as the time that ALL KENYANS want and deserve, it is the young who bury the old. Kenyans demand and deserve PEACE. Let them have no money in their pockets BUT allow them to live in peace. Please your excellency, ask the police to allow for free demonstrations and protests by the Kenyan people. You have seen it yourself, where the police didn't interfere with the demonstrators there were less cases of looting and deaths. It is the police who are perpetrating acts of violence by using excessive force to disperse the people. Would you like to rule over a country of corpses, widows and mourning parents and relatives. Do you know that it took time for people to realise what was happening in Rwanda BUT that eventually they got up with the perpetrators and it was rightly adjudged as genocide? Do you?

At least after the disputed election, the least you can do is to allow the people of Kenya an avenue to vent off their frustration and anger. Let them move around along the streets, let them sing themselves hoarse, let them dance themselves lame. BUT at least let them have the freedom to move and associate, the same rights that you gallantly taught us while you were in the opposition. Why is it difficult for you to offer Kenyans the same things that you pontificated about when you were out of power? Why Baba Tony does your government preside over the killing of innocent children and harmless pregnant women. Why do you allow this to happen when the whole world expects Kenyans to handle themselves in dignity.

Allow me to veer off and quote for you the position of your party (the Democratic Party, DP) regarding mass action. Your current minister for energy Hon Kiraitu Murungi who was the Shadow Attorney General in 2000 had this to say (Mageuzi Instigators Insist On Mass Action By Njeri Rugene, The Nation (Nairobi), 12 November 2000):

However, the Democratic Party expresses its support for the mass action call. The party's Shadow Attorney-General Kiraitu Murungi says although his party has been planning its own mass action programme, it supports the protest call as a way of removing President Moi and his government from power. The party, he says, is yet to implement "its actual time table" for mass action.

Said the Imenti South MP: "There are certain things that can only be expressed in the language of the street. The problem in this country is that the right to peaceful protest and mass action has been converted into a privilege to be enjoyed by groups that support Kanu and the government," Mr. Murungi said.

According to Mr. Murungi, anybody who supports democracy should support the right to mass action. We went into the Inter-Party Parliamentary Group consultations because we thought we could negotiate with President Moi. I now realise that it is not possible to negotiate any reform with him nor expect any major constitutional reforms when he is in power."

He adds: "Moi moves only one inch when he is under extreme pressure.

And immediately the pressure goes down, he moves two steps backward.

That is why we (DP) support any group that gives him pressure because that is the only way we can move forward in constitutional reforms."

What has changed now? Why is it not possible to let Kenyans demonstrate and participate in mass action so long as they don't cause any damage to property and life?

I know that your handlers are telling you that 'they will steal and loot'. Are they prophets? Why didn't they tell you that your government-backed candidate for speaker of the national assembly was going to lose in yesternight' s vote in Parliament? Because they are second-guessing. Your Excellency, don't allow people to taint and spoil your name. As a Catholic, you know the good word says "A good name is better than wealth" (Proverbs 22:1). Money cannot buy a name, you may ask Biwott and Moi. They are prisoners of mass perception. Perception cannot be laundered by Hyssop, not any detergent can make it, neither can police brutality tame it. But you can recover your reputation by doing at least one thing. Get to the nearest camera and microphone and pronounce the words " Wacha hawa warukeruke tu bora wasiibe mali ya mtu". Those words are magical. Allow Kenyans to demonstrate and hold mass rallies. Let them have a meeting with their leaders including their presidents and mini-presidents. Even Kukubo Jeremiah, your fringe opponent got some votes and there are people who see him as the president. Let them not be harmed by your police. Mothers want to cook for their energetic sons, who come back in the evening after a tiring mass demonstration. That is what they want.

Finally, your Excellency, as a Kalenjiin, I wish you had moved in with resolve to terminate the endless clashes in Kuresoi and Mt Elgon with much the same verve that you have used in CRASHING harmless political opponents protesters. To date, close to 240 Kalenjiin men and women including children have died. They were buried in villages and people have kept the statistics diligently. They died with visible marks of bullets, machete cuts and arson. Those who killed the Kalenjiin did not stop at taking their lives out. In a rare show of brutality, they went ahead and copped the corpses, sometimes defiling them then burnt their corpses. Heartless brutes these.

I am sure you have seen the pictures on TV which show the police killing and kicking innocent and harmless demonstrators. Although your government has denied, it is highly unlikely that we shall believe them. They told us about the Margaryan thugs, saying they were investors. Later, it turned out that they were drug barons and killer-hands on hire. Mr President, DO WE have Ugandan forces on KENYAN soil? HAS KENYA, my country been invaded by Museveni's army? Isn't that a declaration of war on Kenya? Those policemen that we watched, awe-stricken, shooting harmless demonstrators, are they REALLY Kenyan police officers? Can you go on TV and assure the country that Ugandan soldiers are NOT defiling Kenyan soil and taking away Kenyan lives with abandon? Can you Baba Jimmy?

By ending I will ask you: How will you wish to be remembered by Kenyans in ten, twenty one hundred years? As the president who was elected in 2002 with an overwhelming majority and rejected by Kenyans in 2007 BUT turned around and bled the whole country dry JUST because he wanted to remain in power. Did you really need to end your legacy with this record? Would you like to be the man we say in the Nandi language 'only mention that name in the evening (at sunset)' or would you like to ignite pride and a sense of belonging in Kenyans. Now is your time, choose your place in the history of Kenya and in the world to come. Your Excellency, I await your determined move to restore confidence in YOURSELF and the PRESIDENCY. I want to walk tall and say like your spokesman admonishes us to 'Najivunia kuwa Mkenya'. A friend just told me that we should in the interim change this to 'Navumilia kuwa Mkenya'. Is this what you want, your Excellency? I want to enter my classes and my students don't spend twenty minutes asking me whether my family is safe. I want to say I'm Kenyan and am proud to be one. STOP POLICE BRUTALITY NOW, ALLOW KENYANS TO ASSEMBLE FREELY NOW. Make it a reality for ALL of US TODAY, I beg you your Excellency.

  15. Unless Kibaki insists on being the new ayadema or mugabe, the pnu is really becoming psuedo national unity. the battle is being lost in the international media with the execution style pictures on tv.

In some sense it does no longer matter if you were a Kibaki fan due to the improvements of the first term - i.e. growth, but a matter of securing an economic future at all. Remember that a lot of the growth came from the opening up of society. Democracy is not just about justice but also a simple argument for growth: the richest nations bar oil in the wrold are democracies. and believe it or not, kenya (and we should be proud of this) was and is the test case for a second peaceful handover: that was the legacy that Kibaki could have had and should seek; no more no less. Please stop making the world continue to think that we africans are justa bunch of savages - let's move on.

  17. Chris wacha propaganda,
Raila or anybody for that matter cannot become president until the armed forces agree and have given a green light.

Remember when Moi retired the then Gen Kibwana hosted a farewell party for him. We never saw them doing so for Kibaki because they knew he will win and they couldnt allow Riala to be their CIC. They cannot accept somebody who tried to take power through a coup to be their CIC. If Jaluos really want a president why cant they try another one, perhaps Tuju. Raila is a definite NO.

The other point is that Raila hit Kivuitu almost knocking him down in 2002. Did he expect that mzee to respect him and ever declare him a winner? Typical Jaluo stupidity.

By the way I dont find the meaning of democracy at times. Those thugs protesting are actually rapists led by Raila. I am requesting any one who disutes to visit Nrb Womens Hospital to see for himself. I pay my taxes so that the government can run smoothly. My children attend a private school and I rarely go to government Hospitals. I am therefro paying double for those people who are on the streets instead of working. Those peope rioting have the highest fertility rates and they even dont care who will educate their children. Its soo annoying to find a father of seven children burning tyres insteasd of busy working to provide for them.

Finally on 24th Dec 2007 Presidential Candidate Nazlin Umar Raijput confessed that RAila Amolo Ondinga attempeted to rape her. This story got carried away because the campaigns were in high gear. This has been proved by the number of raped women by jaluos since they started rioting. Imagine what would have happened had that jaluo called Raila won.

Indeed KTN has remained the only reliable source of information. If not I listen to BBC.

He asked, "What are all those clocks?"
St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move."
"Oh," said the man, "Whose clock is that?"
"That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie."
"Incredible," said the man. "And whose clock is that one?"
St. Peter responded, "That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life."
"Where's Raila's clock?" asked the man.
"Raila's clock is in God's office. He's using it as a ceiling fan"

    PS: Raila= A Liar!!!

  20. 3:11: You are not a kenyan by referring to tribe you are just a tribalist. In any such society, a tribalist, and indeed it looks like we are one, power must rotate or the eventual result is civil war (either full on as in countries around us just simmering along making everyone poorer as time flies). In fact the military is part of the solution: surely raila or anyone else should not be bale to subvert the army, but the army should see itself as guardian of the constitution - that means they need to strike a deal with raila and kibaki for a re-run and then take it from there. When are KENYANS going to realise that the status quo has gone, but that the status quo of africa is possible, i.e. we end up like mugabes zim.

You are frogeting that Kenyans have never got the experience of war. I am finding particulary funny that KTN & Standard who have fro the last 5 years been fanning anti kikuyu propaganda are now preaching peace. Those presenters and editors sitting in the comfort of their air conditioned offices couldnt foresee the repurcasions of the 5 year hate campaign.

The same people at Standard Group are now scared to death, and most of them are jaluos by the way. I have not seen kwendo opanga rioting - why. Its well know that those who are causing mayhem are poor illiterate jaluos while their knismen who are in the safety off their offices and home are watching their suffering to perpetuate propagada.

Are you aware that KTN have not shown the images of the church that was torched with 50 women and children. But they are quick to show police beating an arsonist armed with a petrol bomb.

The standard group will simply close or be taken over by soem serious investors like transcentury soon. All the jaluos who work there do is sensitional reporting thus scaring away with advertisers. They had hoped that Raila government would give them a monopoly of all govt adverts but its all gone.

I was surprised to see a very repeceted presenter Beatrice Marshal swearing on the screen on 28th December. It was sad fro such a lady top utter those unprintable words. Surely those reporters were Raila campaigners and strategists. Business & politics cannot mix but Jaluos dont understand this.

  31. 3:42 thanks for the comments; I don't really disagree that most camps have their media outlets and that's surely not a bad thing as long as certain standards are kept (which sometimes it's not). it seems to me that a civil war has now started because the election rules were not kept; I preferred kibaki to stay for economic reasons, but I don't see that happening as the evidence is the majority voted for Raila. When you rail against raila, don't forget that all our leaders are pretty mediocre, but better have democracy than a dictatorship of, effectively, one tribe against the rest - that can only lead to a backlash sooner or later and that is the real problem; Kibaki has insisted on pushing the country to war, not raila. as long as kibaki supporters can't see this there is no solution.

  36. I have been wondering since the Luos started rioting and their cousins Kalenjins butchering women & children whether this has anything to do with the elections.

Raping women and under age girls, sodomising boys and other beastly acts. Jaluos need to explain what such horredious acts have to do with elections.

What about arson, looting, blocking roads. Does destruction of property resolve any dispute. Kibaki won fairly and square and if anyone has evidence should go to court. Remember Matiba was rigged in 1992 and Kibaki was rigged in 1997 by Moi. No Kikuyu raised his had against a Kalenjin or the other communities that supported Moi. You can imagine what Kenya would have looked like had kikuyus started killing and burning property in Nairobi, Thika, Nakuru, Kiambu, Nyeri and all other major towns. Matiba & Kibaki followed the law and went to courts to challenge Moi's election. Supposing Kikuyus started blocking roads from Kangemi all the way to Nakuru and ethnically targeting other communities, anyway they are peace loving and even now kikuyus cant do that.

What has been happening since the elections were announce on December 30th has nothing to do with rigging as some fools are saying. Its deep seated jealousy and blind hate. Why arent the Asians who exploit Luos, Luhyias & Kambas being targeted. A poor kikuyu who works hard and establishes him/herself suddenly becomes an enemy, including innocent kids. One day the truth and justice will come out and the perpetrators will pay for their crimes.

What makes Raila think he can win because he is busy agitating for another election? Kalonzo had over a million votes. that combined with Kibakis 4.5 million makes raila the leaderof official opposition.

There is alot of hostility between the two groups in Kenya (and abroad) now, but in my view, the issue is much bigger - why are many people across the country dead-set(literally) on having Mr Odinga as their president? Are all those people Kikuyu haters?
I'm concerned that the voices of reason are too few and too far between. I'm concerned that the people who should be opinion leaders are resorting to mudfights. I'm concerned that my mother-in-law (a Kikuyu woman who's struggled all her adult life to get where she is) now has to leave her home in Kibera because life has become untenable there. I'm concerned that I can no longer visit my best friend's family (Luo) because more often than not, the vitriol being poured on Kikuyu persons, the president and the government is unbearable.
It would be naive to ask when Kenyans got so ugly; this doesn't happen overnight. Where is the middle ground? Where is this place that all Kenyans can stand and say they are truly proud to be Kenyan?

  44. I am a PNU supporter, and I was saddened by the execution I saw on KTN. It is obviously wrong for policemen to kill in such a manner. To ODM guys, there are some PNU guys who are posting tribal comments here. Ignore them.
But then, equally wrong is for the Raila led Mass Action that can only lead to Mass Destruction. Police have a duty to protect Kenyans who are not protesting.
Both sides are wrong. One for calling for mass action a time like this, the other for shooting to kill. Yea it is your right to protest, no one is denying. But your timing is totally wrong.

  45. You see, Raila led an anti-kikuyu approach to try win. That was a grave mistake. That is why I have no apologies for him. He will have to pay for such a devious tact. It pained me every time he said that Kibaki is a tribalist, which obviously meant that us Kiuks are favoured by a Kibaki presidency. It felt like we might be sidelined incase Raila held the reigns of power. No one can accept to be intimidated in such a manner. Am happy he is yet to get the presidency.

    ReplyDelete
  46. There is no peace if I am hated because of my tribe. I am a Kenyan who lives like any other kenyan leading my own life. The other day durin the election of the speaker I was in Pub somewhere in town when some jaluos started shouted shouting that Kikuyus have dominated us for wrong. That was when James Orengo was raising the issue with the form of oath. The management was forced to stop the music so that everybody listen to Orengo. The same jaluo went ahed to brag that Ababu Namwaba is our new kid in the block. When the other patron complined that the music to continue playing the Jaluo became violent and security had to restore order.

This is the primitive behaviour that jaluos exhibit everywhere. This election was the end of Odinga dynasty. To jaluos its either their way or no way, period. That is why Kenyans rejected them on 27th Dec.

  47. I start by saying that I am an ODMer or whatever PNUists call us. And this is what I got to say.

Seeing Kenya is already an ethnically divided society it was unwise to run a hate campaign. Most, not all, the blame lies with Raila: The day he called Kikuyu adui thats when I started fearing for our campaign. At the same time, i thought no one would take notice of it and we would move on but it seems Kibaki and his cronies took notice of it and now we have this.
I was personally thrilled with the election of Marende as speaker of the 10th parliament coz it shows some democracy, but was it a pyrhic victory?
Is it possible for Raila to rule even if Kibaki were to fall down dead today? Kenya is so divided right now. It will be chaos regardless of who is president.
Finally, maybe I am a perrneial pessimist but can ODM hold together? this nomination wrangled does not look good. If ODM splits and there are factions and some MPs being given ministerial positions, it is over.
What is teh way forward? as Raila campaings for 2012, let him run on a theme of unity, not division, even then we will support him. I remain ODM-DAMU, call me DOMO or anything but we want Change!

  48. Anon@6.40 Raila is a god to jaluos and he thought he would force that down the throats of 34million kenyans. He was surprised.

By the way I understand the military were not ready to have him as their CIC even if he had won. He couldnt have been given that sword but fortunately Kibaki won and whatever the miltary had in mind didnt materialise.

This is the closest he ahd come to power. Of course the tread now the world over is for the loser to claim elections were rigged. Even Georgia last week the loser claimed the same. Closer home in Uganda Besigye claiemd he was rigged out, the same in Ethiopia, even Atiku Abubakar of Nigeria claimed the same. Even the guy who was beaten by Kabila in DRC congo claimed the same.

Raila should just accept his seat where he sat in parliament as Leader of Opposition.

Look at his cabinent you dumb shit. raila did not need to convince 34 million you moron because unfortunately the whole poplulation is not of voting age, but of those that were, the majority including 6 out of 8 provinces voted for Raila. So you can keep inciting people with your foolishness but the world is seeing what the majority of Kenyans have come to realize and that is that emilio is bitch not even a man that is why he remains quiet and takes orders from Lucy, karua and michuki.

It is good that Luos believe in Raila the God and proclaim him (using your silly example), but what about Kikuyustan? What do they worship? Greed, theft and lies. Huh! Raila got the Luo, Luhya, Mijikenda, Somalia, Kalenjin, Maasai etc vote and we know which god (the ugly one) was rejected by the rest of Kenyans. Central, the bastion of greed and theft returned Kibaki while the rest vomited at his ugly sight. ODM got 100 MPS from 6 provinces and PANUA got 13 from 6 provinces and the rest from GEMA. You only show how Mungiki Stone Age tribal pussyfooters of your ilk behave and what they were inculcated in. Kenyans in 6 provinces say No to thieves. You can join them though you were raised in it. Foolish Stone Age tribal pussyfooter indeed.

  52. Confirmed: President Mwai Kibaki visited Uganda
    Last updated : 15 Jan 2008, Kampala

Radio Katwe has done its cross checking and can now confirm to its readers that President Mwai Kibaki the Kenyan head of state (a title in hot dispute) paid a surprise visit to Uganda last Thursday.

Rumours have been in Kampala that Kibaki visited his fellow dictator Yoweri Museveni but we could not confirm them at first. Now we have seen concrete evidence that Kibaki was in Uganda.

Many Ugandans are worried by why Kibaki chose to come to Uganda at a time when Kenya is in big problems. They are worried that Kibaki might have got to Uganda to consult a man who besides other titles like elections stealer, and serial breaker of Agreements between conflicting parties, is most well known as veteran of genocide against civilians.

Recently we saw pictures of youths in Kenya carrying machetes (pangas) and it brought back memories of the pangas used in the Rwandan Genocide. We earlier wrote about a truck full of new pangas that was taken from Uganda to Rwanda just before the terrible genocide there.

We have not got any news about what they discussed but when the most powerful and corrupt men get together to strike deals, the people of East Africa should get worried.

Foul play is being suspected between Museveni and Kibaki.

The official results of the exit poll have not been released. ODM'ers you should really not go ahead of yourselves. It has proved to be a bad decision. But any way continue entertaining us with all your yapping!

  72. I really pity the people living in the slums as they are the ones who have been sort of fallen into the hole that Raila has dag for them. This hole was conceived in the year 1987 when Raila political career took off.
The people living in slums revere Raila as their savior. Savior? Really? What has Raila done for these people since he took over as Langata Member of Parliament in the 1980? his charismatic character and clever publicity stunts have only been directed to his own endeavors and have deteriorated the living standards of many Kenyans who look up to him. Mr. Raila's campaign was absolutely successful to the extent that there was a voter turnout in excess of 100% in al constituencies. How can this be practicable? His PR campaigns were even outstanding. He was able to shift election rigging focus to PNU even before the elections started. Does anyone see some anomaly here?
Our country is hurting now, being dragged to the mud and destroyed by some power hungry ego maniacs. Raila should show some direction and follow the appropriate democratic steps to avoid a bloodbath. Kibaki has been elected as the people’s president and we should be looking at steps that will create some understanding from both supporters of the political divide. It’s a pity ODM’ers do not understand how democracy works.

If indeed this disaster of a man is a purported president, why cant he show some sort of leadership? Kibaki is a major disappointment to even the PNU supporters. The only question you need to ask yourself is this…since stealing the vote, what has Kibaki done for peace?

Nairobi will be controlled by the Parliament (Both parties). Create Tribal Majimbos within the two regions and have all tribes move back to their ancestral provinces. 75% of Taxes will be paid to tribal majimbo leadership and 25% to Nairobi leadership. Let all the tribal outsiders (Kikuyus in Rift Valley/Western/Coast/Nyanza) return land to Majimbo leadership in the provinces and outsiders in Central/Eastern return land to the majimbo leadership in the respective tribal regions.

Simple solutions: Each region can hold their elections whenever they want and they will require travel documents to visit other regions or double taxation to buy property - in other tribal regions.

  95. BADGES OF HONOUR

Chris you are doing fabulous work, consider all the little insults badges of honour. Lesser men have been proud to be called a fraction of what is written here and with good reason.
Call it as is Chris, everybody in this blog knows propaganda inc is the nom-de-guerre for NMG, that’s why the closet tribal’s are thirsty for more and keep coming back , maybe we should just start a wild world web. We should not allow ourselves to be taken hostage by 10 % tribals who are in denial.

Coming back to the media parliament has to review the media bill with regard to ownership, Parliament has to take back and exercise its regulatory powers. It’s a high time these so called national institutions are put under microscopic audits and exposed for what they are or who they are fronting. Incidentally the Monitor in Uganda has very good coverage about what is happening in Kenya, they have a historic perspective in their reporting which goes to show that you cannot interchange facts with covert propaganda and sound bits. Their opinion pages are highly recommended – they call it as it is. The myth of invincibility is forever banished [ it is impossible to put this genie back in the bottle] Forget about actions without reaction. KUMEKUCHA !! na WaKenya wame chanuka.

The church has seriously let us down not that we expected much from them anyway, there are some sizzling stories that will come out soon that some of the so called “ collars” will not be showing up in church in a hurry to guide their " flocks " SHAME ON THEM for the photo ops to legitimise a government that loathes its citizens just as they do their “ flock “.We could start by diverting our Sadaka to good and justified causes like helping our brothers in the slums instead of subsidizing the greedy lifestyles of the “collars” – No more business as usual. KAMA NI MBAYA NI MBAYA.

And for the crowd whom I will just call my thirsty friends some undisputed historical background [link below] to gorge your white cells. Hats off Chris and to all that bring constructive arguments and opinions that will make as move forward and don’t allow the mistakes of the past to pass – we don’t want them to come and haunt us again. Do we ?
Never again ! Kweli KUMEKUCHA . The next step from this blog is serious independent media ala Amy Goodman - there is the will and know-how.

Lets we forget we still do not know the hidden owners of Equity , impostors cannot be allowed to invoke statutes of law crafted to serve wanainchi to protect Members of their family and friends. It is unprecedented for this to happen and must be reversed. THIS SHOULD NOT STAND.

Veritas vos Liberabit - the ” collars ” would know

  97. CHRIS...ATI Standard is doing a good job ? pliz be seriuos. Everyone knows that it's just an extension of ODM with openly biased reporting.
Frankly people are tired of it's blatant Pro ODM Stand, devoid of any rational balance and objectivity and people are tired of these Protests. Why go protest for kina ODM when in the midst of things they diss you and jump onto their brand new Range rovers and leave you to be clobbered by cops.
It's obvious ODM Is running out of steam, people are tired of their non-sense and are tired of grown men whining like babys when they don't get their way.
It's only a matter of time before ODM starts crumbling from within.
and to the the poor guy who was shot, honestly, when u go fo such rallies, you have to accept that there are risks associated with it.
Was it worth it for him dying ? who was he dying for ? Raila , who wakes up at 10 o'clock to eat sausages and eggs and give interviews ?
as we were told in high school, MOB mentality is very destructive

  99. @9.43 you have very valid points, but as you can see our fellow peers just hurl insults all day long to justify their existence, you cannot even try to rationalize with them...ODM is crumbling down...watch this space....and so will all the "empty debes" in this thread ..they will have exhausted all their insults.

  100. hey anon at 9:41 tell your father to go wash his cunt, and since you have nothing productive to offer go ask your mother back in central to teach you how to suck dick, so at least you can follow in your father's footsteps!! Are you still laughing your ass off or have decided to face reality and consult with your mother so you can get on with the profession you were born to do?

  101. Some people in here are as cold as ice. How evil can you guys get. Just watching the clip of a man being shot in KSM makes me sick. If you guys cannot be touched by the injustices going on in Kenya, then the whole of you KIKUYUs are evil and don't deserve to live in Kenya.

Whether it crumbles or not, GEMA's will be restricted to central/eastern province or Uganda Now. It's Kenya vs Gema - the struggle is on. GEMA Is every other Kenya's ENEMY NUMBER ONE. Peace will never prevail, you can shut the NON-GEMAS with POLICE FORCE, but you cannot KILL THE STRUGGLE.

For the GEMAs in the U.S.A ICE is on the look out. Ni-Kubaya! You've Rattled a snake.

i repeat i/we are tired of your arrogance. so you continue calling us names as you've always done and continue to do. the difference is once we are thro' with you you will be doing so in your refugee camps in uganda and in central kenya! we won't have to suffer your presence again. EVER.this is our ''FINAL SOLUTION'

and your 'PEOPLE'S PRESIDENT' will not save you! lol.

I fell sorry for you ..again please ..the slap the heck out of our parents for being born a looser...PNU and Kibaki had nothing to do with it and therefore cant take any credit.

  105. We entrusted you with POWER in 2002 and you BETRAYED NON-GEMAS. Come 2005 - we warned you with the Referendum and you did not heed. You just added INSULT to INJURY by robbing NON-GEMAS of their RIGHT. Who do you think NON-GEMAS are? PUSH-OVERS. WHETHER RAILA/RUTO and KIBAKI meet up and come up with an agreement or NOT it does not MATTER. KENYANS DESTINY has changed FOREVER. Throughout the 90's You cried about Moi and his government and NOW you are using his tactics to PUNISH NON-GEMAS.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH & YOUR TIME IS UP!!! YOU CAN HOLD ONTO THIS FORCEFULLY BUT TRUST ME - NEVER EVER EVER - WE WOULD RATHER HAVE A NON-GEMA DICTATOR THAN A GEMA DICTATOR.

I pity your mother having to be the Man of the house all these years. Slap the hell out of "our" parents I believe you meant "your" because we certainly are not related you silly cum guzzler!! THE FINAL SOLUTION....haki i swear!

let them kill us with guns, tear gas our sick and the dead in hospitals but soon they will NOT be on our land! I SWEAR. more houses will burn tonight, as always

  109. I agree. It may be time to break Kenya into two countries. The Western part will suffer initially but it is this suffering that will initiate innovations that will sustain the lake region and the rift including the coast and north eastern. The kikuyu can team up with some Kambas.

In a way, this violence is not so bad. Kukuyus can create a little 'mumbi kingdom' just like Swaziland that I'm sure will survive and thrive. These Kikuyu will be allowed to celebrate their language and culture peke yao. If they want, they can create high perimeter walls guarding their wealth in Central. If they choose, they can keep on re-electing Kibaki until the next century. They will have the best of everything that money can buy. They will hopefully allow the rest of Kenya to use their banks, transport etc until when we get our own.
The rest of Kenyans on the other hand will form a new country with a new constitution. We will treat the Mumbi Kingdom with respesct as they will be our primary trading partner. Only then will peace come. The immediate effect will be the huge drop in crime as all thieves will be herded into Mumbi Kingdom.

The Kikuyu will not be forced to hang out with the rest of Kenyans whom they consider dirty, primitive, poor, slum dwelling etc. The rest of Kenyans wwill not have to deal with Kikuyus who are considered pickpockets, mungiki-like, vote stealers etc.

This is a win, win preposition. That's Kenya for you, whetehr you like it or not. You will never see a Kikuyu settle in many parts of Kenya…..in the same way only the most despataret non-GEMA Kenyans settled in Central.

    Kenya imekwisha.

    ReplyDelete
  110. They were those who were suggesting that central be turned into a state just for GEMA.I now fully concur with that view.

And they already have a president who can be moved to the new capital,Nyeri.I think that solution will save a lot of time and trouble.

  111. GEMA PEOPLE can have a landlocked kingdom in Central & Eastern Province. This is the best way ahead. We are really wasting time discussing with them on how to share the government. The reality is NON-GEMAS can thrive without the GEMA. The fact that they had a fast-start does not mean they are the best at everything.

Non-Gemas are just so so tired of these GEMA Games. We cannot handle these anymore. If you want to rule over people, you have to be able to give them a reason to trust you. Simple sanity.

So how do the GEMA people expect to rule over the rest of kenya with their Tribalist approach to everything. FYI: All the stupid collaborators aka recently named cabinet ministers from Rift Valley, Western and Nyanza cannot step in the home constituencies. Because we all know theirs is not power, these guys are as irrelevant as kamotho was.

What Kenya needs is the NON-GEMA Middle Class or progressive professionals to find ways of participate actively in the current struggle.

ODM needs to reach out to ODM sympathisers from the middle class and find ways of involving them in this struggle. Thousands of them want to participate but they don't know how they can do that. All I know they will not go to the streets to protest but they are willing to participate in this.

Non-GEMAS TIRED! and this is the best time for once and all put this ISSUE to BED. Be it Majimbo or whatever it is, we cannot keep coming back to the same issues, year in year out. Arrogance from the GEMA people should be taken down. RESTRICT THEM TO CENTRAL and GIVE THEM CONDITIONS TO TRAVEL AROUND THE COUNTRY.

delusional defination is- persistent false belief held in the face of strong contradictory evidence, a symptom of a psychiatric condition.

Keep on living in your fantasy world. The reality of the matter is that Kenyans need a REAL solution to the problem and an end to all the massacre .

  118. These are all good ideas. Give GEMA People; Central and Eastern Provinces (Call it Gema Republic) and let the Non-GEMA regions run as republic republic of Kenya.

All or Most of Kenyas problems have been caused by GEMA People. We should Give them GEMA Republic - just like Eritrea and Ethiopia. We really don't need them, it will take us a couple years to catch up but, once we are there we will be all set.

They are the most Tribal and Arrogant of all Africans I have interacted with. They can rig themselves in and Out. Unless we do this now, our kids, our grandkids and great grand kids will go through the same experience.
