Kenya's New President

1) Won only 2 provinces, one of them consists of only his own tribesmates.

2) Yet he ended up with more votes than his opponent who won 5 provinces very convincingly.

3) I am no ODMer but will somebody please explain this arithmetic to me?

It is time to pray very hard for our nation. In 2002 we assumed that it was us who achieved the peaceful transition. YET it was GOD. It is time for Kenyans to cry to God. Ask for forgiveness for our big sin. He is merciful and will correct this great injustice to the Kenyan people.

Imagine the man whom we put on the throne na roho safi has refused to leave State House even after we have rejected him en masse.

I have never liked Raila, but this is NOT about Raila. It is about the people of Kenya and how they voted. Our votes have been reduced to rubbish.

  1. I'm a Kibaki supporter but this is a sad day for Kenya. At the age of 80, I expected him to show the way forward whether he loses or gains, but hatred, tribal infighting, distrust, clashes, economic rundown, paralysis, total failure will be the results. How will he heal the nation? God help Kenya.

  2. Thank you for all the updates.

It is ridiculous what has happened, is this what we call democracy?

If this is what happened in this elections, what will happen in 2012? Do we have another president who will not give up his seat?

Are we moving towards 2012 in peace?

I really feel bad and sorry for Kenya at the moment. Let us see what unfolds...

  4. Could it be because the provinces are not divided equally?

  5. You need an explanation! I will try to give you one. The PNU areas are under-represented and overpopulated. It is time for re-districting or serious constituency review. It does not make sense for one person to represent 1,000,000 people while another represents 80,000. This is not fair and I urge you to start a campgain..."NO TAXATION WITHOUT FAIR REPRESENTATION". The 25% provincial rule should be done away with untill such a time we have equal population in all provinces. Celebrate this and advocate for this in town hall and grassroot meetings and I will truly believe you are a true democrat.
It is time for winners and loosers to accept the results and remember there will be no Kenya without all. The rule of law and respect of the rights of all should now be paramount and I ask for your prayers towards this end.

    George Wahome.

  6. You have done a brilliant job keeping us up to speed with this fiasco. the arithmetic here is amazing. With 35 seats in parliament how do theseclowns expect to govern this country. I hope a vote of no confidence is the first order of house business.

IN LESS THAN AN HOUR OF RIGGING THE ELECTION, HE IS TO BE SWORN IN AMIDST THE UNECESSARY SECURITY FORCES THAT HAVE IMPRISONED US IN OUR OWN HOMES. MY PLEA TO ALL GOODWILL KENYANS, STAY AWAY FROM VIOLENCE WE SERVE A LIVING GOD WHO WILL CERTAINLY AVENGE AND UNDO THIS GREAT UNDOING, AND WITH A VENGEANCE NONE OF THESE THUGS WILL OR HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. 8. So did you expect OURS to be rubbish instead? Yeah I can see you have a serious problem with arithmetic----'two provinces'. You see this is not about provinces, it is about VOTES (One man one vote not one province one vote). But dont worry, you will get over it.

  10. Vikii,

You never cease to amaze me. You have not addressed any of the realities happening on the ground in kenya tonight. I expected you, like PKW, to have a sobering voice instead of one that incences. Remember it is not about one party ODM, it is about the way elections are held in kenya. Do you recall the article Mutahi Ngunyi wrote in 2006? Do you have any opinion on what has been hapenning in Kenya today? Or are you such a heartless person that thinks that the "letter of the law" is more important that the "spirit of the law" as Mutula Kilonzo stated yesterday. Yes, we have had elections. Yes, results have been announced. The question is whether the results that have been announce can be seen as fair. If PNU know that they have nothing to hide, then why not encourage a recount or a re-tallying so that Kenyans who seem disatisfied with the process are? Is the cost of a re-tallying of votes greater than the cost of distrust, division, and acrimony that now appears to be pervasive? I do not think so. It is now time to bring all Kenyans together for healing process to begin.

    Up to you Vikii

  11. TR, the elections were democratic. Kibaki had people vote for him in Nyanza, at some place, more than the PNU MPs.

He 'won' the elections. Now, the second phase. Next week, it is a total clean up. Then Kazi itaendelea after Wednesday. TR, anyway, thank you for your prayer to Mwai Kibaki and I believe that you will see change in the coming days.

Pole for the rest. I only pray for peace that Kibaki finishes his second term in style.
