Its A Disaster, a Major One

Kenya's Electoral Commission have undone years of struggle by declaring Mr. Mwai Kibaki as president.

It is unfortunate that Kivuitu as ECK Chairman was arm twisted into making illegal concessions and as such been seen as a party to the BIG FRAUD that has taken place in Nairobi a few minutes ago.

The ODM pentagon have left KICC without talking to the press, and I can assure Kumekuchans the fight has began and whatever happens next will be entirely attributed to the irresponsible Mr. Kivuiti.

Personally, I fail to understand how the ECK can acknowledge theft and at the same time advise the victims to seek legal redress in a court of law that is managed, prosecuted and judged by the robber.

Similar scenes (not so dramatic) were witnessed in Kenya in 1992 and to date, many Kenyans fail to understand what Kenneth Matiba is keeps complaining about and many young Kenyans dont understand who MOI is. Sadly and unfortunately for Mr. Kibaki and Mr. Moi and their ilk, ODM is not FORD Asili and Raila Odinga is no Kenneth Matiba. What happens next will disappoint a few people, but it will ensure prosperity, peace and development to future generations. It will be a disaster!

18h20 local time;

STOP PRESS: RIOTS HAVE ERUPTED COUNTRYWIDE, KIBAKI TO BE SWORN-IN SHORTLY IN STATE HOUSE - NAIROBI. ONLY CITIZEN MEDIA AND KBC TO AIR IT LIVE.

KIBERA, MATHARE, EASTLANDS, KISUMU, ARE NO GO AREAS. GOD HELP THIS COUNTRY.

CARS HOOTING ALL OVER NAIROBI, CROWDS INVADING POLICE STATIONS IN KISUMU. POLICE ARE OVERWHELMED IN KISUMU.

KENYA IS ON FIRE. CAN YOU GUYS KEEP SENDING E-MAILS SO CHRIS CAN POST THEM. WE MUST INFORM KIBAKI OF OUR FEELINGS EVEN IF HE IS PRESIDENT. PNU SUPPORTERS MUST ALSO SEND IN WHAT THEIR HONEST ASSESMENT RATHER THAN USUAL INSULTS. VIKII ESPECIALLY, CAN YOU GET SOBER COMMENTS/POSTS THROUGH?

Thanks for the great work you are doing. Us Kenyans in the diaspora are with all of you in Kenya at this time. More and more of our brothers from GEMA will begin to speak out against this monster. This evil that has robbed Kenyans of their proper place in the world for one generation. No more will this happen again. Let us remain steadfast. I do not expect Kibaki to change anything on his own--he has to be forced by the will of the people. He is yet to face this, and when he does he will understand fully that no one can stop and idea whose time has come!

Where is Vikii, Where is PKW and Derro, we need you now. Say something!

  2. Re: your invitation to Vikii and other PNU guys, I have one question: in case you support what's happening just because Kibaki shares your ancestral blood (I don't think you can sustain the argument that he's a democrat anymore), is the blood of even one ordinary person worth that support? How about 500? 5000? Well, you can bet that civil war will take a hundred times more than that if the numerous examples througout Africa are anything to go by.

It's easy for GEMA to blame Raila for everything that's wrong with Kenya, but I don't think anyone will buy that this time. Nor do I think even Raila has the power to stop the angry multitudes from venting their anger on innocent members of the GEMA community throughout the country.

The irony of it all is that Raila has NEVER done anything--at least not in the public domain--to make the GEMA hate and fear him so. Other than the accident of his birth (on account of being Luo and sired by Kenyatta's old rival, Jaramogi) I guess. The excuse that he supported the coup of '82 is nonsense because we know that GEMA military generals also supported it, as did Charles Njonjo if rumours are to be believed.

In subsequent years the GEMA community themselves worked frantically to overthrown Moi (remember Mwakenya, Pambana, etc?), but he outsmarted them. Instead it fell to Odinga to liberate them from Moi and give them the presidency through the now infamous "Kibaki Tosha" statement, as well as campaigning for him.

If anyone should be mad at Odinga it should be Kalenjins, whose favoured party he floored in 2002. Instead they now support him, having realized that he really didn't mean harm as a people, but had only slayed the dreaded KANU monster. Another twisted irony is the fact that the beneficiaries of his action now that loath him nearly to death, while practically every other community has embraced him.

I guess the wealthy GEMA elite and their allies (e.g. the Moi, Nyachae, and Awori families) are now fomenting trouble to make the country ungovernable, perhaps to buy time to hide their loot or as a pretext to effectively govern through the GEMA military top brass by declaring martial law. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the GEMA elite would rather execute a coup d'etat against Kenyans through such martial law than hand over power to their imaginary "nemesis", a Luo, and of all things, an Odinga!

You will notice that in my comments I restrict my criticism to the GEMA elite, because I have tens of Gikuyu, Embu and Meru friends who do not necessarily agree with what is happening.

  3. TR,

Deroo is here man. I am only sorry that it had to happen. But for those who are not happy with it, that is life. Raila might do anything, but the thing is that the Chief Justice has signed. There was a Swearing Ceremony has been done.

Read the tactics. Monday is a public holidya. Tuesday is New Year's Day and Wednesday early in the morning, there will be an announcement of the new cabinet.

Keep your eye on Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and the read 2012. For Raila at the moment, he can wait for the tallying in 2012. Otherwise hii ya 2007, watasahau for the time being.

It goes like that in competitive events.

  5. Phil, I did not insult anybody. Please quote me. All I said is that an election cannot only be free and fair when you are winning. I think you are overrating Odinga (u euphemise it with 'Kenyans' pooh) and underestimating everyone else. Are those 4 million Kenyans(U can call them GEMA because you are stupid) who voted for Kibaki illegitimate?

Mr. Tr, u asked where I am. I am all here and I have already congratulated Mwai Kibaki for being elected president for the second time. I have congratulated the more than 4 million Kenyans who voted for him.It is wrong for you TR to claim that all Kenyans in the diaspora are supporting ODM's hooliganism. You better speak for yourself. Dont try to romp me into those shenanighans.

Mr. Anonymous, I do not have a drop of GEMA blood. I dont have it at all.It is stupid to imagine only GEMA people voted for Kibaki. It is even dumber to imagine only those who voted for Kibaki would defend his victory. No, it is those who respect democracy and the rule of law and I wanted to be counted among this last group. Otherwise, you are entirely entitled to your feelings!
