Is This The End Of Uhuru Kenyatta’s Prominence In Kenyan Politics?

archive

The political future of Uhuru Kenyatta does not look too bright just now.

To start with Kanu are due to meet next week to officially announce the person they will support for the presidency. This will be a mere formality as powerful party members have made no secret of who their preferred candidate is. It is the incumbent President Mwai Kibaki.

This puts Uhuru in an impossible situation. Supporting Kibaki will cripple his kind of politics and render him virtually impotent. Yes he has no other choice because as current party leader he has to lead by example.

On the other hand in the unlikely event that he decides to rebel, he will be faced with the prospect of possibly losing his parliamentary seat. The naked truth is that you can sell many things to the Kikuyu community but one thing that you will not convince the majority of them to do in 100 years, is to...

  1. Chris, wacha UK alone. Kwani amekula mbuzi ya nani? And why should you expect a saint of the son of Jomo while Lucifer and his derivatives suffocate our landscape?

Uhuru is only being pragamtic and practical. He is living his political life now and here. After being let the garden path by baba Gidi he knows better whom to avoid associating with. If anything Kanu iko na wenyewe and I doubt if he is a true shareholder.

The chicke are simply coming home to roast. Forget all the textbook fineness of youth and politicking objectively. Just ask one Jimmy whom Kenya needs but his collong his heels after his tribe's chief dispatched him to political Siberia. Negative ethnicity is here with us and we haven't seen anyting yet brother. UK's dad sowed it, uncle Dan wondered it and Emilio can only do the most honourable thing to his mentors: nurture it to adulthood. Poor UK!

  2. Have any of you been to Las Vegas, Nevada? Well, I’ve been and I’m back tonight after a week and a half of scotching heat and dusty ‘air’. Don’t cringe just yet. Just thought I’d make an announcement lest you thought I’d been rubbed off the surface of this earth.
GOOD idea: Mandalay Bay and Celine Dion. BAD idea: Convertible rental car and Zumanity.

Uhuru..yes, he’s dead….politically ie. I will ask again, what exactly is a “Manchurian Candidate”? …..and please don’t include obscure references to the movie.

  3. I think Uk still has plenty of fight in him, if i was him i would go against the grain and build a national clout for himself , he should think like a seed , seeds die befor shooting out as a new plant. After that he needs to create his new political school and party and move to a cosmopolitan contiuency in the city.Supporting Kibaki now yet he is the LOO will definetly be viewed as protecting his own .

  5. I have a dream... That one day Uhuru Kenyatta will urinate in the state house!! I have another dream .. That no fish will ever be eaten in the state house... You do not need to have the brains of a rocket scientist to know that 2007 H.E. Hon. President Mwai Kibaki votes will be 2012 votes for Uhuru Kenyatta. Dear Birodos, please shed off your smelly foreskins so that you can see reality. kioko. BC. Canada.

  8. For the umpteenth time, you are entitled to your own opinion, or better still, to posing a 'question' as the heading of your post, then going ahead and answering it yourself, sometimes even being the first to comment on your own post.
Now my opinion, since I have a right to be heard(!) and to be wrong (!!); there is no telling who is dying or surviving in Kenyan politricks.Same old geezers, new politrickal alliances for the love of the motherland. For; hasn't the saint been involved in numerous power deals and switched to more parties than I can count for as long as I have followed politricks? And still takes a whole bunch of people wherever he goes? And still pulls crowds with football metaphors? Didn't he join forces with Moi, the oh so evil one whenever he is not on the right side, in February 2002? Did anything prevent him from singing Kibaki tosha six months later when it was the 'right' thing for him to do? Wasn't it him we hailed for demolishing his constituents' 'houses' in the name of the government the following year in the name of gava, till the Vatican, the Vatican 'Chris', had to intervene? Machungwa?
I think unless Kenyans vote for individuals, Kenyan politicians know how to survive, and this UK guy is no different. I was there when Baba Gidi created a constituency so he could justify appointing him to the government. The 'boy' is just casting his lot with the 'winning' side. Its upon Gatundu Southerners, and in 2012, Kenyans, to decide.
In the mean time, 'Chris', keep the fire burning.Vote out the entire ninth parliament (including Agwambo??) Mother of all elections. UKWELI SASA!Arrest Moi et al, where are we going today?

  10. Vikii, the whole idea of such a trip is to leave behind the laptop and cell-phone. Given the company of those around me in that city of sin, it would not be prudent to start logging online under any circumstances.

  11. Kalamari and Vikii: Please stop using this blog for personal communications. I wonder who rides the other!! I suggest you buy mobile phones. nugu ici.
